  1. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

Asked to see a doctor as pregnant they booked me in with a practitioner complete mess she didn't know what I could have for a skin condition she had to write everything down to speak to a doctor as she didn't know then sent me away and I had to wait then she had to phone me to tell me what they said, due to the doctor not seeing it it was like guess work. If they didn't have any doctors appointments left they should have said but the receptionist should have known this would happen or might as only doctors know what pregant women can have. Awful it used to be one of the best doctors, now I would say it's the worst the receptionists are making decisions that they shouldn't be making.and it's causing unnecessary stress for patients. If they can't handle the patient load they should ask for help

  2. Review titled High demand but with thorough and thoughtful staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

We moved area so had to move doctors. We were very happy at our previous practice, though the 'kindness' of the service did vary according to which doctor you saw. However, at Rivergreen, which unfortunately I have had to contact many times during the last 2 years, every appointment (face to face or phone calls) has been compassionate and thorough! Yes I agree with others that the appointment system is a massive challenge, however I always find a caring and helpful person on the end of the line....when and if I get through. The national 'system' is broken but in my experience the people working for the health system and our wellbeing, are trying as hard as they can to serve us as faithfully as they can! Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback. I will pass on your kind words to the team, this will give them a much needed boost in these challenging times for all in general practice. With regards the appointment system we are now working to the new national GP contract and so we make every patient contact count - assigning patients wanting care to an appropriate clinician or NHS resource. This means that we are preserving the GP appointments for acute and chronic disease care and utilising our other clinicians: nurses, HCAs, physician associate, clinical pharmacists, physios, mental health practitioner, cancer care coordinator, social prescriber and health and wellbeing coach where appropriate. We are almost a month in and the telephone rings less meaning less waiting and we have appointments and solutions available all day - good for our patients and for us. It is a big change to get used to and we think it is for the better.
