I am usually able to get a same day appointment. Either telephone or face to face. I find everyone very helpful and understanding.

  2. Review titled Careful attention to detail

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Hazel - Posted on 22 July 2024

The physician assistant listened carefully and asked relevant questions. She was respectful, considered my information together with my notes and referred me appropriately. I felt reassured that nothing had been missed and was clear about next steps.

  3. Review titled Ignoring babies again

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Martina - Posted on 06 October 2023

Called today at 8.01am, got cut of when I was number 6 in call que. When redialed was called later and told they all booked up and I can take my 1 and half years old who has high temperature and been vomiting all night to crawley hospital or call 111. This is not first time this happens. Receptionist said she understand but I don't think she cared one bit, as she wouldn't even acknowledge that the line got cut off and couldn't end the call fast enough.

Dear Martina I am sorry to hear about your most recent experience where the telephone was cut-off and there were no appointments available at the surgery. I cannot explain why the telephone would have cut-off but can only put this down to a technical issue although we did not receive any further complaints that day about the telephone system. With any technology, sometimes issues arise outside of our control. Sorry you felt the reception staff member may have come across as unsympathetic, I will discuss this with the Reception Manager and ask her to share this with the team as part of their on-going learning and development. Appointments are in very high demand and we can only offer a certain number of appointments per day with each of our clinicians in order for them to work safely. When we reach a situation where there are no further appointments for the day, the team will signpost patients to attend the Crawley Urgent Treatment Centre which operate a 24/7 service all year where you will be seen, NHS111 or if it is an emergency, to call 999. We also offer an e-Consult service which you can access from our website (https://www.riversidemedicalhorsham.co.uk/econsult). I would like to reassure you that we would not ignore our patients intentionally and am sorry you feel this way. I do hope your child is now feeling better and please contact the surgery again if we can help. Vikash Practice & Business Manager

  5. Review titled Not a good experience...

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Felix Padure - Posted on 21 October 2022

Recently (20/10) we had some a family issue in our family - food poison. I called the surgery at 8:oo am and at 08:10 I've been told that they are busy all day, can't take anymore pacients and we need to go to a&e. Travelling with our condition wasn't a best solution so we called 111 because our Gp couldn't do anything to assist us. Today 21st of Oct I called for my little man which was very poorly, vomiting and coughing a lot. I called around 10:30 and I've been told that I supposed to call at 8am and the triage list is closed and I need to go to see the a&e. So even if I'm calling at 8am or a bit latter the triage list is already full. No idea when will be a good time to call and be placed on this list. Is not the first time when I experience this kind of issues but sometimes is enough.

Dear Felix Thank you for your review which I was sorry to read as you were not happy with your recent encounter with the practice. I have looked into the matter on the two days you have mentioned when you contacted the surgery and whilst our triage remains open for the majority of the morning, on those two particular days, the GP had found it necessary to close the triage very early in the morning. The reason for this was because we were very short of clinicians available and the demand for our services far outweighed what we could safely provide. In these instances, we will redirect our patients to visit the Crawley Urgent Treatment Centre at Crawley hospital which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The telephones can be very busy especially first thing in the morning as demand for our services are very high. I do hope your son is feeling better and please contact the surgery if there is anything we can assist you with. Yours sincerely Vikash Practice Manager
