Review titled No backup provision in travel vaccination
Rated 1 star out of 5
by N Carroll - Posted on 19 August 2024
Dire performance in providing travel vaccination with only one (poorly) person able to give vaccinations in the whole surgery. Having given them the travel questionnaire in June, they have made and then cancelled appointments to the point (at nearly 8 weeks to go) where they've told me I must now go to a private travel clinic. Communication has been terrible, they have a contract to provide vaccination services with the local NHS Trust but have made no effort in the last 8 weeks to effectively provide it. One nurse may well be ill, but they are shrugging off any rersponsibility to provide the service.

Review titled Absolutely Useless. Avoid!
by Patricia Andrew - Posted on 08 June 2024
This surgery set me up, purposely did everything wrong, then kicked me out when I got angry with them. What do they expect! I'm in agony! I need treatment! I asked them for urgent mri as my legs were giving way. Told them which hospital I wanted to go to. Explained I have to have it under g.a. as Claustrophobic, told them how to do the referral. They sent referral off, didn't mention anything about g.a. on the letter, sent it to the wrong hospital. I am living in agony, with spinal nerve problems. I wanted help. They aren't doing their job. Messing patients about. When I had appointments I'd get there and they made out `Oh your appointment was yesterday` - no it wasn't, I checked my text, all lies!! I saw them do this to another patient too while I was in the waiting area. Appalling. Do not use. Go elsewhere. Terrible. Atrocious.

Review titled Great GP
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Kaz - Posted on 02 May 2024
I have had a number of appointments with this lovely GP since first seeing her last July. Appointments have to be made in advance which wasn't a problem. She has been very thorough and willing to listen! Most importantly I felt she listened to me and didn't ignore my concerns. She also explained things withough being patronising . If more GPs were like her the NHS would be a better place! She was very kind too which is usually missing from encounters with GPs as they're in too much of a rush to deal with you and usher you out. She was busy but I didn't feel rushed so much as to leave things out. She is an asset to Riverside and its a shame I can't mention her! I also think the way reception/callers deal with you when making appointments has improved. Certainly the receptionists that I have dealt with recently have been very helpful, unlike a few years ago when I was completely put off with the attitude of one or two. I do realise making an appointment in the future may be easier than getting a same day appointment but at least some things do seem to be improving.

Review titled Gate keepers
Rated 1 star out of 5

I have severe PTSD related to trauma and am neuro divergent. On top of this I have over lapping conditions that all affect each other and can never speak to the same doctor twice. I get 10 minute appointments to try to explain what I'm feeling, why I'm feeling it and as I find it hard to unpick the symptoms as I struggle to effectively communicate and self report, I am being overlooked. My suicidal thoughts and ideation have been over looked as the locum doctor believes my child is a protective factor and waiting for months for referrals is acceptable. I've been trying to access secondary mental health services for a very long time now and I'm feeling very disappointed with the treatment I've recieved as an autistic and disabled patient trying to navigate this system. I call and can't get an appointment without a sometimes 40 minute wait time and up to 20 ahead of me in the queue. I am not good with computers so I am unsupported and let down by the health care system. This is why the suicide statistics are high. No one takes you seriously until something bad happens and even then, you're just a statistic and people will talk about how they could have improved things, but by then, it's too late for some.

This practice used to be very good but service has deteriorated rapidly. Reception staff not very helpful, appointments cancelled without notice, aftercare following hospital discharge unacceptable. Prescription service poor.

Review titled Not very helpful visit
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Rebecca Wildman - Posted on 10 May 2023
I visited the surgery 6 days ago with an ear complaint, it was clear from the visit that they were extremely blocked- I was given drops to help clear them and then made an appointment for today to have them syringed, I was looking forward to finally being able to hear again it’s been getting me down for days and causing a lot of discomfort. I saw a nurse today who was very unhelpful and explained that that wasn’t something she does and today she was just looking at my ears again and take a swab. She looked saw they were still blocked but said I would have to make another appointment 5 days later at another surgery!! She didn’t even take a swab and was quite dismissive and rude- really poor service today. I normally have great things to say about the practice but that one nurse has changed my opinion. I can’t put up with the hearing loss any longer and I’ve bought a kit to remove the wax and home I’m that fed up

Review titled Rapidly deterioration in service
Rated 1 star out of 5

Despite being elderly and having a debilitating back problem, it has been impossible to get a face to face consultation with any of the doctors listed on the website. Tablets are dispensed over the phone with minimal interview, by a nurse.

Review titled Hand Surgery
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Cheryl Richardson - Posted on 24 March 2023
I have been offered hand surgery for a trigger finger, the operation was quick, the consultant was very friendly and as it was done under local anaesthetic he described everything to me. This service is amazing no long waiting list. This has been available since December it is one service to take advantage off.
