  1. Review titled Excellent safe experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 July 2024

I called the surgery worried about my son and even though it was past 10am they were able to give me an appointment that afternoon. The receptionist suggested I do a covid test which I was happy to do as it is going round again. Attended the appointment and the receptionist was friendly and smiled and offered us a mask each. We had very little wait and the male doctor was very kind, thorough and I felt involved in the decisions. I have to praise this experience as I know it differs from so many other surgeries and somehow this one has kept the small family doctors practice feeling of old. Very happy my family and I are registered with such a caring practice team.

  2. Review titled Really good service as always

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by GratefulPatient - Posted on 06 July 2024

Came to the surgery for my Tuesday evening appointment with the nurse and she was so kind. The receptionist was really nice and helped me get my log in details so I can see my results when they are in. I was really sad to see another patient being horrible at reception - why do people think its ok to talk to people like that? Like, are you for real?! You're being horrible! Take a chill pill. The lady at the desk handled it well and gave me a smile as I left. True professionals. Thanks!

  3. Review titled Doctor doesn't want to see you

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 February 2024

When you call to schedule an appointment, they will suggest self-treatment at home or a visit to the pharmacy. They advise self-care for a week and may request a sample afterward, depending on the issue, to assess for infection. If an infection is detected, they will prescribe antibiotics; otherwise, you're left to manage on your own. This approach feels inadequate when you're in dire need of care.

Thank you for taking the time to add a review. As its this not the case its actually hard to know how to respond to this! The Doctors here very much want to see patients who need their help, but with so many people requesting appointments for things that do not need a GP appointment, it can make it harder for them to see the people who really need them. That's why we ask questions about your symptoms when you call and signpost to the most appropriate service to help you with those. I hope you are able to access the care you need for your minor ailment at the pharmacy, and should it continue, as per the advice given, please do call us for a same day appointment at 8.30am. Wishing you the best of health, Sally

  4. Review titled Cannot reschedule missed registration appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

As the title says, if you miss an appointment, for whatever reason, you will not be allowed to reschedule another. I'm referring to the registration appointment. Luckily for me, there is another practice in the area, so I'm not left in a pinch. It's a bit ridiculous if you think about it.

Dear Sir, Thank you for your comment as it helps highlight the importance of attending appointments on time. Our Patients Viewpoint Group were instrumental in setting our Did Not Attend Policy so I'm sorry you feel this is ridiculous. I note you were 40 minutes late to your appointment. As a small surgery, every wasted appointment affects other patients, hence we take this very seriously. It does explain on the application form to register that if you miss your first appointment here, you will be unable to register with us. This is so from the outset you know what to expect. I do hope you manage to foster a more positive relationship with your new GP surgery going forward and attend or re-arrange appointments you make with them. Wishing you the best of health, Sally, Practice Manager
