  1. Review titled Rude Dismissive Uncaring

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 April 2025

“I do appreciate that procedures are in place . However, with respect, I think I’m a better judge of the urgency and appropriateness of my own medical needs than someone without clinical training. I’m not asking for a favor—I’m asking for the basic courtesy of being allowed to speak with my own doctor, who actually knows my medical history and is qualified to make that decision. Referring me to A&E over something that requires continuity of care seems, frankly, a misuse of NHS resources. No one actually listens just trained to push you away. I was honestly quite taken aback—and insulted—by the notes that were made following our conversation this morning. I haven’t needed to speak with my doctor in some time, thankfully, because things have been going well. But when I do reach out, it’s because I genuinely need to. I’m not someone who turns up at the surgery for every small issue; I reach out when it matters. And to be met with such dismissiveness, and then to see that reflected in the notes as if I’m being unreasonable, is deeply disappointing. It’s hard enough to ask for help sometimes, and being made to feel like a burden for doing so is not only disheartening—it’s unacceptable. Patients shouldn’t be made to feel ashamed for advocating for their own health. It’s not just unfair—it’s utterly wrong.” I see—we’re at the stage where receptionists are now triaging medical conditions.I was under the impression that was my doctor’s role, but clearly I must have missed the memo. I’ll just pop off to A&E then, as advised, so they can tell me what my GP could have told me in five minutes—assuming, of course, I don’t waste any emergency resources in the process. Still, thank you for your guidance; it’s always helpful when administrative staff feel confident enough to make clinical judgments.” We place our trust at our lowest Trust broken

  3. Review titled Patient care was excellent

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Just leaving a review to thank the nurses and doctor who attended to me while fainting after a blood test. I've never passed out from anything before and found it scary, but I was brought round quickly and given swift and thorough care - they even brought me some chocolate! And they were very kind and understanding when the shock passed and I got upset. The care I received really helped me recover and calm down - I can't thank them enough.

  4. Review titled Poor Aftercare

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Lisa Marie-Joyce Chetwyn - Posted on 11 April 2025

Dear Roundwell Medical Centre, I am writing to formally raise a complaint about the recent decision not to perform a dressing change on my post-operative entry wound, as advised by both the hospital and NHS 111. I underwent an emergency operation on 30th March at Addenbrokes Hospital following a car crash on the 23rd March and received instructions from my surgical team regarding proper wound care. Specifically, I was advised that regular dressing changes are important to ensure proper healing and to prevent complications. When I later contacted NHS 111 for further guidance regarding my wound care, I was informed that this dressing change should be performed by my GP rather than being managed in A&E. However, during my recent phone call on the 10th April, I was told by your team that I must instead attend A&E for this dressing change. I find this decision both confusing and concerning, as it contradicts the recommendations provided by the hospital and NHS 111. I am worried that this approach may lead to unnecessary delays and difficulties in managing my post-operative care. I respectfully request that you review this decision and arrange for the dressing change to be carried out at your practice in line with the advice I received from both the hospital and NHS 111. Additionally, I would appreciate a written explanation detailing the reasons behind the refusal to perform this dressing change, so that I can better understand the process and ensure that my care is aligned with current best practices. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your written response within the next 2 days addressing my concerns and outlining the proposed next steps.

  5. Review titled Terrible Practice - never any appointments!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Julie - Posted on 19 November 2024

111 referred me to see GP within 3 days, sent notes to Roundwell. Receptionist claimed they had not received them, 2 hrs later rang 111 who checked their records and stated these had been sent to GP. Rang Roundwell again, still no records, they looked again, apparently in an email backlog. Despite receiving, still would not allocate an appointment. 111 told me to ask for Practice Manager if GP refused to give me an appointment. I did this and was informed Practice Manager was in a meeting and that 111 would have allocated me one of their daily six slots if it was that important! I gave up trying to get an appointment at this stage. Seems that receptionist can now triage better that 111!

  6. Review titled Cancelled appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Marcus Barnes - Posted on 01 October 2024

I arrived for my Medical Review today (08:30 01/10/24) to find out it has been cancelled. The person on reception was very short with me and said they'd sent a text message on the 18th Sep to inform me. I did not receive this. I was on holiday, with no signal, from 14th - 29th Sept. I Work From Home and had a call this morning at 08:30 which I missed most of and now need to catch up whereas I could have have been on it. Is there a confirmation of text delivery on your system? If it is undelivered is it followed up at all? If not then this is awful admin skills. The surgery have my email and I have requested many times to only contact me by email because, until recently, I worked on oil rigs for 10 years and could only receive email, yet they still use my phone! I tried to use the complaints process on the surgery website but that is '404 Page Not Found'. Classic Roundwell!!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Hels bels - Posted on 31 August 2024

I came to see Nurse R, super efficient, caring and really put me at ease, such a good experience. It’s super hard to get through for appointments but I really like the call back system when your in the queue it’s easy to use and you don’t have to hold listening to the music and voice overs this made my experience so much easier
