I have found my experience very upsetting by speaking to unsupportive and rude staff. Scruffy practice even though this was being looked at by the management.. practice was Unsupportive to my elderly and vulnerable parents.

  2. Review titled Very Supportive

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I had reason to have to attend the Intergrated Centre on a Sunday recently, and needed follow up help from Royton Medical Centre on 2 occasions. All the staff have listened to my concerns and supported me both times. I am very grateful, and thank you all.

  3. Review titled Impossible to contact

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 July 2023

I received a letter dated 3rd July to book an appointment following a referral from the doctor. It is impossible to actually book anything and the website tells you to contact your GP if you want to do it online. However, if you go into the surgery, you are asked to phone them then they never answer the phones

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you have had difficulty contacting the practice. I have spoken to the team and reviewed our data from the telephone system in response to your feedback. Looking at our data I can see that the average waiting time on the telephones does seem relatively low on average. This of course does not take into account the sharp increase in call volume that we see between 8am and 9am each day. This busy period is caused by people attempting to make urgent appointments when the surgery first opens. If you did want to pre book an appointment, we would suggest that you try and call after this period. When completing the eConsult form, there is an option for you to put a note into the form detailing that you have been asked to make an appointment by the GP. Our team will then cross reference this note against your record and make an appointment for you. This means that you will not have to answer all the questions regarding your condition again. If you need further support with this, please call the practice and a member of our team can talk you through this. As mentioned, your feedback has already been discussed with the team and we will continue to monitor our telephone system closely. If you require further assistance, please email the practice via gmicb-old.roytonmedicalcentre@nhs.net. Kind regards, Royton Medical Centre

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. I am the Operations Manager for the practice. I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the appearance of the area outside the practice on your last visit. As mentioned in response to an earlier review, we were currently in the process of hiring someone to take care of the the grass outside. I can confirm that this has now been done and the outside area should be tended to soon. I would be keen to hear more about your experience with our receptionist. If you could please contact me with more details via gmicb-old.roytonmedicalcentre@nhs.net, I would be happy to investigate this matter further for you. The practice takes all feedback seriously and I would welcome the opportunity to resolve these issues for you. Kind regards, Royton Medical Centre

  5. Review titled Shame of Oldham

I’m ashamed to say that I’m a patient at royton medical centre.. so scruffy looking outside, overgrown grass, full of weeds, rubbish on the property. Shame on the practice for letting it get like that. The inside state of toilets is just as bad.. difficult to find a free parking space for my disabled dad.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit to the practice. I am a member of the management team at the practice. I am sorry to hear that your recent visit did not meet your expectations. After reading your review on the 20th April, myself and another member of the management team have conducted a site walk around to investigate your concerns. The exterior of the surgery is currently something that the management team are tackling. Recently, we have had a tree surgeon take care of the trees on the property and we are now in the process of finding a gardener to take care of the grass and other plants. Unfortunately, the litter is an ongoing problem as it blows into the surgery from the surrounding area. On inspection with my colleague however, it did not seem excessive. Myself and my colleague have inspected the patient toilet facilities and baby change, all of which were maintained to an acceptable standard. The inspection log in each area was also up to date and we can assure you that the facilities are checked daily. Should you ever find an issue with our patient facilities when visiting the practice, please report them to a member of our team immediately and we will endeavor to rectify it. The surgery has designated disabled parking to the rear of the practice available for our patients. If there are difficulties accessing this, please let us know. We are always keen to receive feedback as it helps us develop. If there is anything else you would like to add, please email the practice directly via gmicb-old.roytonmedicalcentre@nhs.net. Kind regards, Royton Medical Centre

Dear patient, Thank you for your feedback and I'm sorry to hear that you've had difficulty making an appointment. I'm the Operations Manager at the practice and I'd be happy to look into this for you. In order for me to look into the issue in detail for you, I would need some details from yourself. If you would like me to investigate this further, please send them to gmicb-old.roytonmedicalcentre@nhs.net for the attention of the Operations Manager. It would be helpful to have more information in order for me to understand why eConsult has not allowed you to submit an eConsult. We have also recently launched a tutorial video to help patients with eConsult on our website, the link is https://www.roytonmedicalcentre.nhs.uk/practice-information/online-services/e-consult-user-guide/ , hopefully this might be of some assistance when you need to use eConsult again. We take all feedback from patients very seriously and this will be discussed with the practice team. Kind regards, Royton Medical Centre

Having moved from one bad practice this one is no different. Trying to get an appointment is impossible. I was number 5 on the phone today and on for 50 minutes. When I got to number 1 I was cut off. I immediately phoned back and was number 8!! You prescribed stronger pain killers for my osteoporosis hip which didn’t agree. All I wanted was these changing.
