I submitted a repeat prescription on the 28th Feb 2023. The Rydal GP practice mentions that all prescriptions will be processed in three working days. However, a week later and the Pharmacy still hadn't received the prescription. I then call the practice to be told off by a member of staff who rudely told me I had left my medication last minute and they require 10 days to process prescriptions. 10 days! If that is the case they should update their website. In addition, I have not come across such unhelpful staff on reception ever. They act as a barrier to get your medication and talk with a doctor. What are we paying national insurance for if we can't get the medicine we pay for...

Dear patient, thank you for your feedback. We ask patients to allow 72 hours for repeat prescriptions. Sometimes, our patients assume that as they have had a certain medication before that this is a 'repeat prescription'. This would not necessarily be the case and may require a review with the GP. In this situation then a prescription may take longer than 72 hours to process. To check if this medication is on your repeat list please do send an E-consult and we will be happy to investigate this for you. I have shared your feedback with our prescription team and reception. Had a appt with the lovely dr price last Friday. Would just like to thank her for her time and treatment. I can now use my thumb and am over joyed. Many thanks especially when she was dealing with a medical emergency.

I have been with this practice since 2014. I have had nothing but excellent service, all the staff I have encountered have been helpful and encouraging. some of the other comments are appalling; I sometimes wonder what do people expect; in my experience (which is vast being 78!) I find people will treat you as you treat them! Also as a retired state registered nurse I notice excellence when I see it

contacting the surgery over the last few years has been always difficult. I was told I can access patient access or e consult Rydal practice. Patient access hasn't got the option to contact the surgery. E consult has an option but when you answer questions, you are to call the surgery.

Dear patient, thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. I am the Sharon, the practice manager, and I am sorry that you have experienced problems contacting the surgery. We find that our patients are sending E-consults regularly (we no longer use patient access for contacting the surgery only to order a prescription). Please do call to speak to a member of the team if you are still encountering issues. We are in the process of switching to a cloud based telephone system and have successfully recruited new members to join the team.
