    I consulted a female GP I knew had a special interest in Gynaelogical problems. After examination I was referred to a consultant, who confirmed her diagnosis and carried out a biopsy, which thankfully did not reveal anything serious. The consultant prescibed a course of action but the GP went one step further. On a follow up visit to the consultant, the GPs knowldege and treatment was praised. The consultant felt many GPs would not have known what to do, or, offered that particular solution. As a nervous patient I did not relish the various examinations but the GP was so kind and gentle I need not have worried. Several GPs in this practice have specialities and it's worth knowing who to go to if you have a problem which requries a particular expertise.

  2. Review titled 9am appointments for mums who don’t drive

    Had to wait three weeks to see doctor who isn’t a locum as they are usually not very good- the only appointments was 9am - you need to be aware the main bus route locally (Northiam to rye harbour route) doesn’t arrive in rye until approx 9:50 plus you have to walk to the surgery - for people with out a car this is so hard and especially when you have children, you need more staff so more appointments can be made available or offer patients without transport appointments after 10am so they can get there on time Written on behalf of sister in law

    You hear of so many doctors where you can only ring up on the day to get an appointment - Rye Medical Centre (in my opinion) will often offer an appointment within 1-2 weeks for non urgent which I think is really good. The E-Consult service is fantastic, submit your query before 12:30pm and you’ll often hear back the same day. I have to say the main reason why I think this practice is fantastic (I know we can’t name names on here) is because of the dermatology doctor. So helpful, so approachable and explains things so well. A real expert in his field and we don’t realise how lucky we are as many doctors you have to get a referral that goes on for months for dermatology - I got an appointment within the week. Please never leave!
