  1. Review titled need warmer waiting room and more approachable receptionists

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 February 2025

I have to visit the doctors regularly last couple of years with health issues and I'm always waiting way?passed my time very rare I'm ever seen on time. Yesterday saw me sat waiting for over 1 hour. The room was cold and no1 came to tell us they was running late I had to check with the desk staff. The receptionist aren't the friendliest either when asked a question they seem annoyed youv had to ask them. Once seen the doctor was very good just shame about the cold wait

  2. Review titled Today I met a very nice Doctor

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Geoff Roberts - Posted on 13 February 2025

Had a routine appointment to review my blood test results. Whilst there I raised a couple of other issues. The lady doctor was both professional and very personable. A thoroughly enjoyable and productive appointment, and I made a point of saying to the Doctor how nice it was to have met her as I left.

I was relieved to be able to see a professional on the same morning as I enquired. The Urgent Care Practioner dealt with my problem in a thorough way and prescribed a course of antibiotics which are starting to take effect and easing the pain and discomfort that I was experiencing.

  5. Review titled Reception police think they can triage

Rated 1 star out of 5

by chris wright - Posted on 27 January 2025

called 3 times to book a appt for my elderly father who is on holiday. Explained that he needed to see a doctor on his return and 3 times the reception staff booked appt with a nurse, once i was told but the other two times i assumed it was with a doctor until my father messaged me from abroad to tell me it was with a nurse. How dare they assume to know my fathers needs.

Good morning, Our Patient Services Team do not triage but they do care navigate. This means that they advise who is best placed to see the patient based on the type of problem. They have undergone significant training to do this and work to very strict protocols set by our GP Partners. This has been standard practice in many surgeries for quite some time and is the process recommended by NHS England. If you would like further information or clarification please do call and ask to speak with the Patient Services Supervisor. Regards Julie Knights, Quality Development Manager

  6. Review titled An excellent surgery in all respects.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ronald Gow - Posted on 25 October 2024

I telephoned at 8.05. Return call at 8.25. Consultation with Doctor at 10.15. Medicine dispensed in house at 10.40. All staff cheerful and positive. This was a typical experience at Rylands. They cannot be faulted. Medical treatment and follow ups exemplary.

  7. Review titled Really positive experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Malcolm Burns - Posted on 17 October 2024

I am new to Ryelands surgery. I've needed to go in for a routine check up and separately for some help with a sore shoulder. On both occasions the consultations were friendly and informative. In the case of the more recent appointment I was unable to make the arranged time (owing to local flooding) and was offered an alternative appointment straight away. It was excellent professional care.

  8. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Having spoken to the pharmacist about a tablet, I phoned the surgery regarding side effects, the receptionist said they would refer the matter and I was phoned back in less than 10 mins by a doctor. I was told to stop taking the tablet and an appointment was made by the doctor for me to see her. I have now had the appointment and am very impressed with the way my problem was handled

  10. Review titled Waiting Times

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 April 2024

My husband had an emergency appointment after becoming short of breath following bypass surgery 6 days previously. No home visit. Had to get him dressed and into the car and to the surgery where he had to endure an hour long wait past his appointment time. Fading with every minute under the stress and effort to remain seated without falling to the floor. Twice we were told by Reception that he was the next to be seen and yet 3 more people were seen by the Doctor before us. By this time my husband was on the point of collapse and could hardly walk to the doctors room. He was refered to A&E with a heartbeat of over 145-160. Shocked beyond belief that a man in such a compromised position could be left sitting for over an hour when they knew the reason for his visit after speaking to a Doctor earlier in the day. I could write more but I am so angry.
