I went into the hospital as it was my first time there. I admit I was about 5 minutes late, but when I got to the GP I could not find the right one. When I got into the reception (this is about 5 minutes late) and the receptionist was on a call, she did not acknowledge my presence and she did not say anything to me. My sister and I waited there for about another 6 minutes while she was on the call. Then after her call, she went on to tell us that I was 10 minutes late and the nurse would not be able to see me, and that’s why I should have used the self service. I had never been to that GP, that was my first time there, there was no acknowledgment of my presence, she didn’t even look up from her screen when we came in front of her. It was very disrespectful, because she did speak to a staff after her call before she even spoke to us. This happened on the 20th of february 2025 around 4:55 pm.

All patient feedback is important to our surgery as we use this to review ways of any improvements to our service. I will review the posters and notices in reception to ensure guidance for patients attending our surgery have a clear direction to our surgery front reception as we are a shared building, I will also review the self check in screen notices. I do appologise that the reception staff were on a call at the time of your arrival and will speaking to all staff regarding ensuring patients are acknowledged. I needed to have my ears syringed to facilitate a hearing test. This needed two visits, one per ear. For the second visit, the syringe machine was broken but the surgery was good enough to call me to tell me not to attend. Subsequently visit for the second ear was excellent.

There was no queue at the surgery, although I was only in for a BP test I had some blood taken too which the nurse took to the hospital herself as it was past the normal time but she was going there anyway. I was seen really quickly and felt I was in good hands throughout. They also referred me to another service at the same time. Top marks.

Previous to the move to the new premises/system you could always generally get an appointment to see a GP even if it took a couple of early morning attempts. It has taken several weeks for me following a phone conversation with the GP to secure an appointment. Calling at 8am does not work as by time you get a human all appointments have gone. Doing an online appointment request also fails as there are never any pre bookable slots. Completing a form online and requesting a face to face appointment as the GP has said you need a face to face appointment also fails as you are booked in for a telephone consultation, only for the GP to say they need to see you. It’s like Groundhog Day. Patients deserve better. You could become seriously ill whilst navigating the deeply flawed booking process. Saddlers Health centre - your patients deserve better.

Dear patient, firstly can I apologise that you were unable to request a suitable appointment for you and the time and attempts you have made to obtain an appointment. The surgery do offer pre-bookable slots available to be booked via the NHS App up to 6 weeks in advance these are face to face appointments for routine reasons. If your reason is urgent then you can walk into the surgery at 8am to request an urgent on the day appointment or call the surgery at 8am Monday - Friday to request this. The on line access through accurex is also for non urgent appointments and there should be a section where is asks the patient do you want to be seen face to face or have a telephone consultation as patient do have the choice. I will be checking this to confirm, I will also be speaking to the reception staff that they are taking note of any specific request from the patients of how they would like to be seen. If you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact the surgery to speak to the Practice Manager. Rang the surgery last Friday trying to make a GP appointment for my hrt review, was advised by receptionist that she could try to book me in with the advance pharmacy but the date that she offered me didn't suit me due to work commitments so filled up a online consultation , got a text same day that a telephone appointment was made for me the following tuesday

The NHS needs more practices like Saddlers Health Centre. The whole surgery runs extremely efficiently, all staff are really friendly and caring. The GPs are attentive and caring. M specialist referral was completed even before I reached home. Thank you again to all the team at Saddlers Health Centre, please keep up the excellent service.

Refused to do my blood test because I was having private treatment. The test was about my general health. First booked appointment and on the day of blood test cancelled it even I was eligible.
