Review titled Rubbish Service/System
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Vicky Ewen - Posted on 30 May 2024
Had the displeasure of phoning the surgery on 29/05/24 at 8am only to be told there was already 20+ people ahead of me in the queue. Having held on line for one and a half hours at 930am was informed the surgery was already at capacity and no appointments were left. How is one meant to get an appointment when one is needed ? I wouldn’t mind but it’s not like I phone every week or month so when I do, I need to see a doctor. Disgusting service !

I have needed the surgery several times during the last year. Yes, I’ve had to put in some effort myself to get an appointment, but I have always had a great response, including several face to face appointments. With over 25000 patients I think they do a fantastic job.

Review titled Getting an appointment is a nightmare
Rated 1 star out of 5
by An infrequent patient - Posted on 12 October 2022
Staff are efficient and seem to be caring. However, since Kings Road Surgery was taken over by the Omni Healthcare - sorry, Shannon Healthcare, trying to get an appointment has become a trial of stamina. The system is you ring after 08:00 (and I suggest 08:00:01) and you get put on a queue. I sat on that queue, listening to "There are more than 20 people ahead of you in the queue..." for 45 minutes. From 45 to 50 minutes, I heard "Your call is important to us" which made we wonder if they get a kick back on call charges.... At minute 52, I heard I was number 10, this went to number 6 with 2 minutes then a voice came out "Hello". This suggests there are a lot of people answering the calls but the number of calls is excessive - thinks 100s in the queue. Once I was talking to a person, I was told all of today's slots were booked and first free pre-booked slot was in over 2 weeks time. I could 'declare an emergency' which is phone triage or call back tomorrow and play slot roulette again. I am at a loss to understand how this system is thought of as effective. I am now looking at how hard it is to move practices.

Review titled Service is non-existent

Seems that now you cannot book a future appointment, you have to queue up from 8:00am every morning to see if someone is available to see you that day! Why not set up a tent in the marketplace and we can all queue up like any other third world country. I am truly shocked at how bad the service from our GP provider has become. Covid is absolutely no excuse, as you shut up doors from day one of lockdown and left us with no support. Thank God our pharmacy is still want to look after us.
