Reception staff here should all be sacked, they’re a useless unprofessional and rude bunch. Waiting 6 weeks on a prescription and I’ve been chasing every few days. Constantly being told it will be ready in a few days only to hear nothing. Chased again this morning after last speaking to them 3 working days ago and I’ve been told it’s my responsibility to chase every 48 hours. Sorry but how about just do your jobs? Utterly useless and all as bad as each other.

Thank you for your feedback. I have spoken with my team and they are unaware of your phone call this morning. I can assure you that prescriptions take a maximum of 48 hours, which is standard within the NHS unless there is a need to have an appointment with the GP for a medication review. Should there have been an ongoing issue with a prescription, this should have been raised to me. Please contact the practice at your earliest opportunity and ask to speak with me, Caroline, so I can discuss your prescription issue with you and investigate appropriately. The staff here at Sandringham are a great, supportive team dealing with sometimes difficult circumstances. I sit alongside them, in case of any issues that may arise, and have not witnessed unprofessional and rude behaviour. However, I would be happy to discuss this further with you. I have left a review a few weeks back ive submitted it ..an for some reason...its not come on here or showing Anyway it simply said....this practice as improved greatly ...a few years ago it wasnt run right at all when liz was in charge ..but since caroline the new practice manager as come along things seem too be running a lot more efficent an smoothly ....i have had no problem over the festive period....or recently ..obtaining an appointment an being seen too by a competent qualified doctor .....the reception girls are always helpful an try too give you apts or fit you in if any cancellations when they can ....a bit more continuaty within the practice would be good as there seems too be a lot of locum gps there ....this is just from what the odd patient in the waiting room as said too me ....they have moaned from time too time saying you never get too see the same dr....but i tell them i dont have that an i have not experienced that issue laterly and for a long time ....it is a practice that has a lot of patients on there books an the girls an drs do try there best ....i have seen a vast improvmemt within the last few months....keep up the good work everyone ..an thank you for all your help its much appreciated x

Hi Keith Thank you so much for leaving us a review - we really do appreciate it. I'm glad that you are seeing an improvement with the service that we are providing. We have long-term locums working with us now which is providing continuity for patients. We are, of course, continuing recruitment campaigns to find salaried GPs. I have only great things to see about this practice. I have several health issues, and I always recieve the best service from all staff. From receptionists to Dr to Pharmacy staff.

I have been registered at this practice since 1993 and, despite a change in ownership, can honestly say that my experiences of the practice have been nothing but positive in all that time. The same was true of this visit. I called in the morning, and after only a short wait on the phone got an appointment at the surgery with a Doctor within an hour. On arrival at the surgery I was seen by the Doctor quickly who listened patiently, showed interest and put in place a a plan of action to investigate. They could not have been more helpful. I would certainly recommend this surgery to anyone thinking of registering.

Every single time I come in here there is different staff. You can tell they all work their hardest and are under extreme stress, no wonder they all leave. what is the management doing??? location is poor, i have bad knees as im getting older and the roads are very busy to cross

Hi Thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback for the practice. It's important that our patients do this so we can look at areas on where we need to improve. Feedback is always welcome. You are correct in saying that there are new staff at the practice. A new Practice Manager joined the team in May and has begun to make necessary changes in order to fully support our patients. Part of these changes includes building a strong and capable team. Before the new Practice Manager arrived, a number of temporary staff were employed. However, several recruitment campaigns have taken place since May and a new team is being put into place. This team will focus on the patient experience and provide consistency to our patients. These staff changes will continue over the next few months until the new team has been fully completed. I'm sorry that you feel our location is poor. The road outside can be very busy at times. There is a pedestrian crossing just down the road should you need it. There are also roadworks on Aigburth Road at the moment which is also causing traffic issues. Hopefully these won't be there for too long. Please do continue to provide feedback to us. If you try and call the surgery, no matter the time of day, it takes an average of 30 minutes to get through. Since covid, all appointments are first by phone and then if the Doctor needs to see you, you'll be given an appointment for another day. You have no say on what time your initial call is and sometimes they don't ever call so you're left waiting all day and have to start the process again the next day. The Reception staff making the phone appointments don't know the Doctors any more (it seems they work from home and all the Receptionists are given is a name) I have previously requested to speak to a female Doctor and at times they don't know which ones are female from the names, and other times I have been told there are no female Doctors as an option at all.

Unable to see a GP as you have to get past reception staff first. Advised you will receive a call from the GP and god forbid you miss the call. Called them back to advised missed the call due to being in work - was advised you should make yourself available for a call back if you've requested one and now you have to call back tomorrow to be put on tomorrow's list. Ongoing health issues for over three years and unable to get the help or understanding from the GP. Some of the reception staff talk to you like they can't be bothered and when you call to find out why something hasn't been done that the GP on the phone consultation has recommended, reception staff don't know if you've spoken with a male or female GP because they aren't on-site when they call you. I understand that during COVID extra measures had to be put in place but why haven't the GP's surgery gone back to how it was previous, call that day for an appointment. No disrespect for the reception staff but some of them are only young with little or no experience and none of them are medically trained. I have heard reception staff on the phone to other patients who have called to advise a family member is short of breath and the receptionist advised they would receive a call from the GP that afternoon.!! I would not recommend anyone joins this surgery and I am contemplating joining another surgery. Nowhere can be as bad as Sandringham Medical Centre.
