    Had booked a telephone appointment for an annual review, due to working hours was unable to attend the surgery, so the option of a telephone appointment was very convenient. The phone call came through 2 and a half hours early, when I was unable to answer my phone. When trying to rebook my appointment I was notified that I was marked down as 'appointment not attended'. Telephone appointments are a very convenient service that are appreciated, but if I was 2 and a half hours early, I would be made to wait, so please stick to the times given.

    Good Afternoon We are sorry to hear that the clinician did not make contact with you, at the expected time for your recent telephone consultation. We would like to investigate this further but are unable to do so without your details. On occasion clinicians may attempt to call a patient earlier than the booked time slot, if they do not make contact with the patient, they should always attempt to call again as close to the allotted time as possible.     My adult-son, who was staying with me on a temporary basis required an appointment to identify what could have been a measles rash. As we were soon to be in contact with family babies aged under 12 months, it was desirable to have this checked quite quickly. The receptionist dealt with this request most efficiently and sorted a GP appointment on the same afternoon for which we were most grateful. The GP my son saw was most pleasant and helpful. Thank you Sandy Lane staff for your care and efficient attention.

    Tried to book an appointment for in the future to see a certain doctor. The doctor knows about my current problem. This saves me having to explain myself all over again. The receptionist was determined not to give me an appointment. I had had an earlier appointment when the doctor would not give me my test results as I had "gone over my allotted time" because I was explaining what had happened to me again. The doctor was both brusque and rude. I did not get to book an appointment with the doctor I requested and was told to ring again the following week. I really don't want to ring again and have to go through the reception staff. The problem I have has been going on for well over ten years now and I am tired of constantly explaining it, especially to reception staff.

However, the reflection of your recent experience does not reflect how our new appointment system should work.     I have been with this surgery a while and in the last 6 months they have improved their services and communication with the patients massively. The phone system now has call back facility and updates regarding training new staff, patient user group, and the care navigation system is very informative amongst other messages being played. Really appreciate this - as an infrequent attender I was dreading having to contact the surgery, however being offered call back facility and then offered an appointment within 2 weeks during these difficult times for primary care was just a relief. Keep up the good work. I hope others that don't contact you often find the same communication informative like I have.

    As a carer for my elderly Mother who has Dementia, I find this surgery particularly difficult to get appointments with. I called in yesterday and was told to ring the following day to get an appointment, I was advised to ring after lunch when it was quieter. Having just spent 13 minutes and 15 seconds on hold I can only imagine how patients who do not have family to take care of these things feel! I asked the receptionist if there was any way of contacting them online to make appointments to be told "no" everyone uses the telephone.......I wonder how many disgruntled patients they have. Thankfully, this is not my surgery!

    Good morning We are sorry to read that you experienced difficulty when trying to obtain an appointment for your mother. We would very much like to be able to investigate this further. The practice has recently changed the way in which we book appointments and it is rare that we would ever need to ask a patient to call back on another day to book. We also have some new staff that are still in training and this may be a training need that we have not identified. Unfortunately, we are unable to explore your experience further without your or your mothers details.     A huge Thank You, to the person I spoke to on reception this morning, the person who processed my request and to the Dr for my new prescription. The whole team really heard my concerns and the urgency of my situation. They processed my request so swiftly - I was in receipt of a new prescription within 3 hours of my initial request. Their efficiency and patient care was very impressive. They definitely exceeded my expectations. Thanks again!

    There have been a lot of improvements recently when trying to make an appointment. The phone message is shorter and the receptionists have been very helpful when advising about where to get help and if I need an appointment I have been able to get one rather than being told to ring back at 8.00.
