An appointment was arranged through this GP surgery for a hospital appointment at Dryburn hospital that was 6 weeks ahead.Waited the 6 weeks,travelled to Durham hospital for 9am parked up,went to the department to be told it was cancelled by the GP surgery.The receptionist said the GP surgery should have notified you,but no,even though they had an address and a mobile number no notification after waiting 6 weeks.This resulted in paying for private treatment as just gave up on this ridiculous GP surgery.

If a referral is cancelled or rejected by the hospital, we have a daily checking process which identifies these and allows us to contact the patient and look at next steps. I attended GP surgery after having an unexplained episode at home in the previous 2 weeks. Appointment with advanced nurse practitioner. She listened, advised,referred me to see a Consultant at local hospital & prescribed medication. Cannot fault this consultation. After hospital appointment I had a telephone consultation with same practitioner. Rang at time stated. Advice given, medications put on repeat. Overall I cannot fault her and the practice in general…. Thank you.
