Try to call back to speak to a GP that has left you a message after tests last week to be put on hold for 20 minutes while being told you are 3rd in the queue which is clearly incorrect as the average call does not last 7 minutes! Eventually have the call answered to be told the GP just left... Request they return my call tomorrow only to be informed they don't work like that and I have to call, pointed put as the GP will be busy it makes more sense for them to call me when they have a moment rather than me call, get put on hold while they are in an appointment and wait for them to be available. Absolutely no common sense at all. Rude and dismissive unhelpful reception staff that clearly cannot think for themselves and are unable to agree a helpful solution for all parties that would be more time efficient for everyone involved. Had they not called me in the first instance and asked me to return their call I might be more understanding the total lack of efficiency especially as a worried patient very anxious as to why they called me following the tests. Would not recommend this place if you want a caring reassuring GP practice

However, we would like to reassure you that calls to the practice can sometimes take longer than expected, as our clinicians and staff are dealing with complex medical issues to ensure each patient receives the best possible care and advice. While we strive to keep waiting times minimal, there are occasions when calls take longer than anticipated due to the nature of the discussions being had. We understand your concerns regarding the process of returning a GP’s call and acknowledge that it may not always feel ideal. However, due to the way our appointment and call-back system works, GPs are often in back-to-back appointments, and while we always try to accommodate patients as best we can, we cannot guarantee an immediate return call. Our reception team follows the procedures in place to ensure fairness and efficiency in managing all patient queries, and we apologise if this came across as unhelpful. We take all feedback seriously and are constantly looking at ways to improve our service. Meeting with a new Practice member, I found the interview relaxed, pleasant and encouraging. Results clearly explained and request fulfilled for an UltraSound appointment in the near future, with an encouragement to return if further steps need to be taken,. Thank you.

I’ve been a patient at Sherrington park for 20 yrs+. There is a continuity of care which is good however myself and my family are feeling increasingly dismissed. In the last few months…. My sons recent condition was miss diagnosed as nothing serious - take painkillers and we’ll arrange a routine check in the future - resulting in an emergency operation at QMC within 24hours and he lost a testicle. I have a large injury on my buttock which I was told would resolve itself - 9 months later my ultrasound scan was ignored and recommendations not acted on by my gp. My son was premature and in my recent appointment my gp asked if he had a misshaped head because he was prem - when I simply shared that he’s off to Uni this year! My husband has been diagnosed with autism and our gp said ‘there is no cure’ and ‘at his grand old age he has surely learned how to live with it’. Very unhappy. I feel that I’ve learnt to accept this from my GP and it’s only when I shared these very recent experiences with a friend that I realised it’s not ok.

Got up early after being in a&e all night, tried calling at 8am and phone lines are off, tried again and get message saying call can not be completed, tried constantly but same issue, tried a different number incase it was my phone but that call connected, very poor service..

We needed to update our inoculations and the nurse explained what we needed and sorted out our jabs. All very efficient and professional. The surgery and waiting areas are always clean and tidy, the staff helpful and good humoured.

Can't get an appointment unless you get up at 8am which working nights is not very helpful as then exhausted for my shift. Told prescription would be automatically sent to my pharmacy and to wait til 5pm. It was not sent. 2 hours of my day wasted and now will be late for my night shift. 2 phonecalls to the practice to chase up the prescription being sent and still waiting. If any other practice can take you as a patient move to them

I have been suffering from an acute ear infection,after trying to ignore it for days my wife persuaded me to contact my doctors. I phoned at 8am and had to wait a few minutes for an answer. I explained my symptoms to the receptionist.She was both friendly and understanding. I was given an appointment later the same morning. I saw my GP who was very professional and empathetic. I know the the NHS comes in for a lot of criticism,but it is only right that this two doctors practice receives the recognition it deserves for the first class service it provides to the local community. PS my wife keeps saying “I told you so”my ear infection is resolving and the pain with it after receiving the appropriate treatment.

I had a recent consultation for a chronic condition that had returned. The GP was incredibly sympathetic to my distress and reassured me that we would work on an action plan with long-term achievable goals. I immediately felt better, and having regular follow-ups with the GP and nursing team, find that my condition is now under control and I needn't have worried so much. Fantastic practice.
