Awful practice. They direct you to do everything via the co-pilot online form but it isn’t suitable for every enquiry. If you click on general enquiries it just directs you back to the website. In one instance I finally managed to get a triage phone call by clicking on a random set of health issues that were unrelated to my enquiry. The person talking to me via the triage session suggested that I’d needed to make a face to face appointment, when I requested to do this via the triage phone call they refused and redirected me to the co-pilot webpage. I tried to argue my case that I find it difficult to use but they didn’t care. In another instance I wanted to book my free 5 year health check, I wanted to do it via the website but guess what, there isn’t an option so you have to phone and sit in a queue. At my old practice I could use the NHS app to book appointments, it was quick and easy, but this practice doesn’t make appointments available on the NHS app, even though they advertise it when you are waiting on the phone! It feels like they do everything and anything to reserve appointments for only the most dedicated of people.

Dear Patient, I apologise for the difficulty you have experienced when trying to book your appointments. For booking the NHS health check via our online Health Co-Pilot, please use the tile, 'New Health Problem'. As these health checks are with our Health Care Assistants, these are bookable via our call centre, or a receptionist at any of our sites. With regard to Health Co-Pilot, if our clinical time is wasted by patient's randomly selecting health issues they do not have, then please do not expect to be offered an appointment. Extremely difficult to get an appointment, never any bookings available via the NHS app and they make you jump through hoops when trying to use their poorly designed website. It is almost as if they purposefully want to put patients off from seeing a doctor. When you are able to get an appointment it’s generally always via telephone and you have to explain yourself to someone doing triage as if you’re trying to get an audience with the King. A new surgery was recently built which cost a lot of money, I had hoped the service would improve but sadly if anything it’s gotten worse. If they don’t want to see patients in person they should have just refitted the old surgery out as a call centre.

May I ask why 3 prescriptions have not been actioned please? They were submitted last Friday, 6th Sep 24. Today, Tuesday 10th we are still waiting, Why?I have tried phoning this morning, no luck. I was informed after the long, boring, repetitive messages that I was 3rd in the queue, I was waiting in 3rd some 20 minutes later, and that was supposed to be an improvement you say, wow! I drove down to the surgery, the lady said she would message the Doctor. Some hours later we are still waiting. The NHS service is broken and not fit for purpose. Thank you.

We do advise to allow 3-4 working days for processing prescription requests. Going forward you may wish to consider requesting your repeat medication via the NHS App as it also enables you to track the progress of your requests. Never been so pleased when we moved house and could finally move to Albrighton doctors which is as good as our dire NHS gets. Shifnal would benefit from doing some training with them, although both have grumpy receptionists. So behind the times with using the NHS to book services and with repeat prescriptions. Can never get an appointment and you spend hours holding on the phone. Didn’t feel safe after one doctor had to google my health condition. Can honestly say I’ve never had a good experience here in over 10 years.
