Called to obtain further medication which the surgery did over the phone previously and wad then passed from one person to another both taking an unecessary amount of time trying to justify why on this occasion they could not action over the phone. Typical of the unhelpful nature of so.e 9f the admin staff in this practice. A reason given for mot actioning over the phone was time. What about the length of time taken by two members of staff trying to find reasons not to assist on this occasion.

Dear Mr M A Humphreys, Thank you for your feedback, with regards to medication requests, it is on our website as well as our telephone lines that all prescriptions need to be requested in writing. Either via email, your nominated pharmacy,via the NHS app, or by attending the surgery and completing a request form, we are unable to take prescription requests over the phone due to errors being made and the large quantity of requests we deal with daily. I can see on this occasion to resolve your queries management had sent you a text link asking you to confirm a list of medication you would like to request, and any future request need to be made in writing to SWLICB.shirleymedicalcentre@nhs.net or by the other options listed above. Life has been difficult for me lately and I have needed help with forms which the lovely doctor A without hesitation completed for me. My health isn’t good and he has referred me to all the relevant hospital departments. When you get a fantastic doctor like doctor A who listens and genuinely shows empathy it means everything. Our NHS doctors are so snowed under I don’t know how they cope, so to have a surgery that does all they can for their patients is wonderful.

It’s been a scary path with my daughter. Seriously effected with some sort virus extremely bloatly sore danger , with temperatures so high.,what’s going on with a vulnerable young lady …she was sore swollen all over most of all scared unaware what’s going her eyes so swollen. Very scared of Ambulances hospitals ,she has no capacity to understand what’s going on. She is totally in fear. Dr has literally been calm and supporting understanding that my child as an individual special needs,Fast efficiencies response decision taken . Thank-you for urgent support and putting my child’s emergencies ahead and dealing with all fast efficiencies and understanding us as a family , Thankyou Dr Most importantly it’s important to understand venerables and those with Special needs ,,, Dr certainly did supportive . Best surgery I must say with a lovely Receptionist who I spoke to gave me Empathy and knew how I’m feeling and Also was caring .

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the whole team at Shirley Medical Centre for the exceptional care they've provided me. It never ceases to amaze me how they go the extra mile by personally following up with phone calls, even when my blood results come back normal. The teamwork between both doctors is evident, and it's reassuring to know that my health is their top priority. The seamless continuity of care and their thoughtful referrals to appropriate services have made a significant difference. I also want to acknowledge the outstanding care I've received from Croydon University Hospital. A special shout-out to the reception team, whose tireless efforts to secure appointments have not gone unnoticed. Having doctors and a reception team that genuinely care about my well-being is something I'm truly grateful for. The communication about scan results and the clear explanation of the next steps by my doctor is invaluable. I feel fortunate that my family and I are registered at this surgery, and I want to extend a big thank you to everyone involved. This, to me, is the epitome of an excellent NHS GP practice.

Recently my 4 year old has had to up his asthma medication, which included using inhalers at school for the first time. He didn't have a second spacer to use there, so I contacted the surgery and I emailed to request one. I had a text the same day to say that the prescription had been emailed straight to my pharmacy, and I was able to collect it the same evening so my little one could take it to school with him the next day. A personal service, I've never had a 'computer says no' moment here - I would recommend to others.

Rang surgery at 4pm and was given a face to face appointment for 5.30pm that afternoon. Based on my symptoms and history the GP diagnosed possible angina. He checked BP, oxygen and referred me for rapid assessment and urgent blood tests. Appointment came through for early June. Wonderful care from a great GP and practice. Thank you

The practice is so friendly helpful and resourceful. Nothing is ever too much trouble I have never had problems getting an appointment and when I see any clinical staff they are all amazing . The drs are so caring and excellent at diagnosing symptoms taking time and listening. The reception staff are calm friendly even when I hear patients be frustrated at them . The clinic is clean and tidy and organised. I just had to congratulate everyone because all I hear about other practices is bad negative reports. Credit where credits due
