Review titled Fair understanding Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Celine Peacock - Posted on 07 October 2024
Once again, time for me to have my flu and covid injections. I did phone the practice and was informed that patients will be contacted shortly. Only waited a couple of days for them to contact me by text. (This was fine but unfortunately some patients don't have mobile phones and the knowledge like my husband who leaves everything to me). That's the times we live in. Booked and 5th October Saturday, had my jabs. Staff once again professionally carried out the procedure. Once again Sidcup Medical Centre have provided an excellent service giving us options across the surgeries of where you would like to go. I also would like to add, yes an E-Consult has to be submitted. Every time the Surgery has responded and where we needed to see a doctor we have. Repeat special requests again have been met. In the climate of what is going on within the NHS from the Receptionist to the Doctors have given my family an excellent service. Unfortunately there will be some that disagree with me.

Dear Mrs Peacock, Thank you for your feedback. All staff at Sidcup Medical Centre work hard to provide a safe and efficient service to our patients. We have received positive feedback with regards to our triaging process and the turnaround time is quick. We appreciate not all patients have smart phones and are unable to complete the triage form themselves. Therefore patients have to option to attend or call the Practice and a staff member will complete it with them. We appreciate the time you have taken to share your experience at the Practice. Thank you Regards Tina Khanna Chief Operating Officer

Review titled Service received from Sidcup Medical Centre
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Barry Peacock - Posted on 07 October 2024
On 5th October received my covid and flu jabs. Which was once again carried out very professional. Although I do have a mobile phone, when it comes to doing an E-consult request for contacting the surgery I get my wife with me instructing her what I need to ask. Sidcup Medical Centre has always treated me with professionalism and when I had my heart attack end up with a double bypass have continued to give care and attention. When requesting advice the Practice has always responded and when need to see a doctor I have. What is happening with the NHS and GPs feel that Sidcup Medical Centre have always tried to maintain their service but some may not agree. Difficult times we are experiencing.

Review titled Impossible to get a telephone consultancy
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 August 2024
I called at 8am on the dot on Tuesday and was 1st in the queue for 13 minutes and no one answered the phone, opted to press 1 to get a call back which happened very quickly, managed to book a telephone consultancy for Tuesday evening 19:10. No one called me back. Wednesday i called and was told i never answered the phone, I had the phone on my lap for 3 hours waiting for that call, we have all heard that one right, managed to get another appt for Friday (today) 13:30 just received a text and its been cancelled. I followed the link and selected an appt for Monday 8:30 to 12 and that was declined, long story short after many other attempts finally got one for next Thursday, this isn't even a face to face this is the first stage. This is disgusting and i am sure this isn't the end of this saga.

Review titled Not the best
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Andy - Posted on 08 August 2024
The Prescriptions team are the worst, constant problems with them and again today, went in over a week ago, confirmed with the chemists computer. Not even looked at until just now when we complained. Repeat prescriptions are so hard to get throughout 2024. I find the reception staff usually very nice and helpful though. Some of the doctors and nurse practitioners are great too but there are at least two one a Dr one a nurse practitioner who just don't want to listen to you, who rush ppl through and are just achieving nothing. Really needs someone to have A good look at who is and who isn't competent I think.

Review titled Early detection
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Robert Villegas - Posted on 01 August 2024
July 11 was my most recent consultation about my hearing problem. Prior to that I was told it was normal, given medication for cold but nothing worked. I was led to believe somebody will call me to get an appoint to wherever or specsaver for hearing test but no sign of it, its already 1 august. How difficult to get an appt just to check If Im going deaf or what. My condition has worsen, this clinic is not helping. Patient helpless. If your are not wanting to do something, dont let me wait, just let me know so I can sort something out.

Review titled Staff act like they do not like you.
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 July 2024
My overall experience which is thankfully minimal is that it seems like most of the staff do not want to help you. Their demeanour and attitude towards people looking for help is really so rude, it's quite unbelievable. For instance, I had a phone call appointment and firstly I could hardly hear the Doctor/Nurse who I was speaking to and she acted like she couldn't wait to get off the phone. I feel like people who are paid to help people in need should be courteous at the very least. My daughter spoke to a receptionist there today for the first time in her life to organise an appointment and she told me the person she spoke to was very rude. Unfortunately I hd to tell her that most people who work there are rude in my experience, which ruins the reputation of the few people who are kind and courteous. I think all staff should be sent on a communications skills course. I pity the really ill or elderly people trying to get some help from this surgery.

My elderly mum has severe Oesteoarthritis, previously she has has steroid injections but is now housebound and as she cant get to the hospital without NHS assistance because she cant get in and out of car, she has been told to take paracetamol in between her normal medication and that is that regardless of the constant pain she is in

Have been with Thanet rd surgery for 52 years,we have now gone to another practise. Thanet road was a good surgery till it was taken over by Sidcup medical, trying to get your repeat medication is a nightmare, i have been given some other patients medication with the same name as me but all my details on the meds..Never answer phones or cut off, please do not tell us to speak to practise manager as we have done that,do not get back to you.I would like to thank the past staff from Thanet road as they were great.

Review titled So bad it's a joke
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 June 2023
Have tried for several days to get a shingles vaccination. Can't make a booking on the website. The advice is to call the surgery. I have tried calling several times but nobody answers or you get told they are very busy and terminate the call. Other than that I cannot comment on the service as there is no service.
