Review titled Abuse of Power and shocking waste of public money.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Sam - Posted on 29 July 2024
I had a telephone appointment with the head GP as they do not like to see patients in person. He asked me why I needed the appointment. I explained that I had recent blood tests which showed that I needed an increase in my thyroid medication and he replied with Did You Say Please? He increase my medication by double but is withholding giving me the correct prescription until my current low dose prescription runs out in a couple of weeks. This may be punishment for a complaint I have going through as they left my without thyroid medication for over a year. I have contacts within the BBC and think this surgery would be perfect for an undercover exposé.

Review titled Best practice I have been to
Rated 5 stars out of 5

This is honestly the best practice I have been to. The staff are so lovely and helpful. The staff listen to you and genuinely give the impression that they care, I really feel looked after here. We just moved to the area and only had a day or two of medication left, and the receptionist was really helpful and promptly got an emergency prescription to collect that day.

I recently registered with my new GP, and I wanted to share my experience. The registration process was simple and straightforward. The staff were welcoming and guided me through the paperwork without any hassle. During my first visit, I felt comfortable and supported. The GP took the time to listen to my concerns and answer my questions, which made me feel valued as a patient. Overall, I had a positive experience and am looking forward to being part of this practice. I highly recommend this GP to anyone seeking a new healthcare provider!

Review titled Helpful staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5

The nurse I had my appointment with was fantastic. I didn't feel a thing when she took my blood and she even asked the doctor to pop in and advise on another issue. The doctor was great too, he took the time to come see me and was patient in explaining things. I really can't fault this surgery, all staff pleasant and always as helpful as possible.

Review titled Always helpful

at 07-59 tried ringing "Practice closed" retry... At 08-00 you are 35th in the queue... to be fair the numbers went down quite quickly and I was able to ask for an appointment. I was offered a telephone call "later today". The lady who rang just before 12 was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She listened patiently to my list of symptoms, asked me a few questions and answered all mine confidently. A course of treatment was suggested, medication and tests were arranged. I felt that she cared about me and that I was in safe hands. I know that the NHS gets a bad press but the staff at The Simpson cannot be faulted. Thanks

Review titled Terrible Patient Care
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 March 2023
A week ago my husband started with a painful and inflamed foot. On Monday he phoned for an appointment. Was 26 in queue and when he got through, was told there were no appointments. He complained and in the end got an appointment with a nurse. Decided he didn't want this and got an appointment at the Hospital where he was seen, sent for a blood test and prescribed medication. The person there said they would send an email to his GP to organise the medication and he should be able to get it the next day. Next day (Tue) he could not get the medication from the pharmacy. He phoned the surgery and said that the hospital had sent an email to the surgery to prescribe the medication. He got their stock answer "we have not received the email" but then, as usual, they take another look and yes they miraculously find it. He was told he needed a doctor's appointment before he could have this medication and was given one for Thursday. This appointment was with a nurse again and she only wanted to give him painkillers. He said no to this and wanted something to clear this up. Eventually late Thursday afternoon he finally got a call from a doctor who said that he could have the prescription that had originally been prescribed by the hospital on Monday. If he had received this prescription on Tuesday it would have saved all his pain and suffering. The patient care at this surgery is zero.
