  1. Review titled Caring staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Throughout pandemic and more recently when I've needed help off the practice, admin staff have always tried to do whatever was in their hands to help. Could not ask for more from them, they genuinely care about their patients and doing a good job. Not their fault that our area doesn't have enough GPs or that the local hospitals have long appointment delays, they are not to blame for that at all. This team at least treat you like a person and not a number.

  2. Review titled Worst practice

Waited all day for a phone appointment made from calling 111 services in regards to strong chest and back pains. It had reached arpund 4pm and i called reception to see when the call was going to happen. Was reassured I would get a call between now and half 6. but it came to 6pm and no one had rang me regarding my appointment. Pains were getting worse and so i rang again at 6pm. Turns out the doctor had already gone home and left me an automated voice mail saying I would have to make an appointment the next day. Utterly disgusting, they didn't have a care in the world. I had been waiting all day and was just completely ignored even though this appointment was made by the ringing 111. Seems like I'll have to change my GP as this isn't the first time I've had this kind of experience. Receptionist refused to listen and even called the manager who didn't listen to what I was saying. I was lied to and completely ignored.

Dear Patient, I would like to thank you for taking time out to leave a review on our website. I apologize and empathise for the poor experience you had. You mention that you rang 111 with concerns about strong Chest and back pains, for Strong chest pains the practice would have advised you to dial 999. You also mention that a automated voice messages was left, this would be due to Patient call not connecting, therefore the clinician will only leave a message if he or she cannot get through to the telephone number provided by patient. All complaints and feed back is discussed in our monthly staff/Clinical Meetings. Should you wish to discuss matters further, please contact the surgery on 0121 203 5100 and ask t speak with the manager. Kind Regards Mrs Balwir Kaur Chaggar Practice Manager

  3. Review titled Stay Away

My son required a referral to see a private medical professional. As per the t&c’s of our insurance company, a referral must be obtained by my son’s gp prior to making a claim. This usually means either a phone call or an in-person appointment with a gp to assess and a referral letter is issued hours later to be collected. Not the case in this practice. They are, apparently, the only practice in the entire United Kingdom that does not provide medical referrals to patients to be seen, not by NHS professionals, but by my own privately funded medical insurance. They proceed to show us a leaflet that shows that there is a cost of up to £100 for referrals depending on the urgency of the situation. While at the practice, they categorically refused to speak to my insurance company who was on the phone at the time of the incident. The person from the insurance company was in disbelief of what was going on and expressed that it had never happened before. Thank goodness that my insurance company offered me a solution. My son will be assessed by a medical professional through my insurance, over the phone early next week and they will issue the referral my son requires. At no extra cost to myself. Never was I advised of the possibility of requesting a second opinion regarding my son’s need to be seen by a medical professional. I have been with my insurance for over a decade and moved countless times. Never have I been witness to this sort of thievery and lack of care. Not only do I pay an exorbitant amount for National Insurance, I also pay an exorbitant amount for our private insurance. And this practice has the cynicism to want to charge me £100 to write a letter for my son to see a medical professional provided by my own private insurance. If you are thinking of joining this practice I highly advise against it. Look elsewhere.
