Review titled Worst practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 April 2024
I think this is the worst gp practice I’ve ever been to. I made several e-consult forms online regarding my back problems to ask for an x-ray or another type of screening for my spine and I’ve been refused through text messages from solent gp saying that x-rays are not part of the normal process with back pain. They keep sending me to physio but they don’t understand 2 simple facts: 1- the pain it is going down only legs 2- when I lay down I can’t move my legs anymore for quite a long time

I would like to express my gratitude for the support I have received from the Nicholstown GP practice. Recently, I have been unwell, and I was initially hesitant about discussing my issue with the GP. However, I eventually decided to reach out and contacted Nicholstown over the phone to schedule an appointment. I want to extend my thanks to both the doctor and the reception staff for their respectful, helpful, and polite demeanor. Throughout the process, I never felt judged or misunderstood. Instead, I felt confident that I could approach my GP with my concerns and that they would listen attentively. As a result, I am gradually recovering, and the support provided by the GP staff has played a crucial role in this process. I am particularly grateful considering the demanding nature of their work and the numerous patients they attend to daily. Once again, thank you for your kindness, empathy, and care. Your support has meant a great deal to me.

Review titled Great doctors, poor reception staff
Rated 1 star out of 5

The automated check-in desk wasn’t working so was made to wait for >10mins (just so I could check-in) while the receptionist did some typing. At this point the “busy” receptionist came out to rudely tell off my incredibly bored 2 year old for making too much noise. The Doctor was excellent though; lovely, friendly and polite!

Review titled Another Piece Of Hell

When did this surgery become filled by Locums and 'new' doctors? Asked for a telephone appointment with a doctor who has been with this surgery for years only to be told that she was off and nobody knew when she was due back! I didn't want to speak with a Locum who knows nothing about my medical history or even what is going on right now. I also didn't realise that the receptionists were all medically trained. I was asked what the problem was but my answer obviously never fed the curiosity so a bit more digging was done. I ended the 'conversation' saying I'd call back when hopefully the doctor would be back. I phoned at 8am and was 18 in the queue, amazing! Big improvements are needed with all elements of this surgery to make it the kind of Doctors Surgery it used to be.
