    Visited Fox Lane surgery , which is great to have a local practice. Excellent experience, from reception,having my thorough check completed -and thank you so much to the 2 staff who made it that way!

    Following a really disappointing experirence in which i was shuffled off to Selby UTC, i tried at 8am this morning to contact to get an appointment. I called at 8am on the dot, told i was fifth in the Q to be cut off at 3 mins. I called back, was 11th in the Q and then cut off again. A third time i called, was 13th in the Q then waited until 16 mins 17 and was then cut off!!! What is going on? I have a worsening respiritory case, no one wants to help, no one wants to even answer the phone. Even the Selby UTC team laughed out loud when i described my experience at the surgery and said "sounds about right".

    Where do I start. Been fobbed of a few times trying to make appointments, on this occasion, I had a severe sore throat, I’d tried everything for 2 days and the pain was getting unbearable. My wife had tonsillitis recently so knew it would be related and needed antibiotics. Soon as I got through the receptionist who is now a qualified Dr told me it wasn’t severe enough. Well within 36 hours I’d been admitted to hospital, couldn’t swallow, barely speak and struggled to breathe, I’d had a bad reaction to tonsilitus and my throat was lined with abscesses. I spent 5 nights in York Hospital taking up a much needed bed when if I’d been given antibiotics as requested it would have eased straight away. This surgery is a disgrace and has been since Covid. On a separate note tried to make an appointment this morning for my 5 year old little girl, phoned soon as it opened, was 4th in the queue, “sorry all appointments have gone go to urgent care” the place is a disgrace to the nhs.

    Where do I start? Recieved a text from surgery inviting me for a booster Covid jab @ South Milford Surgery. I attended at said time, Sat. 30th May 2023. No one there. Deserted. I went in today to point it out. "Sorry" was the reply it was at Tadcaster! I have also sent an email with a screen shot of the text. No reply at all. Collecting prescriptions for me is hit and miss whether I get the correct items. Many a time I have had to go back to collect the rest. ( I live 6 miles sway). Occasions where I have attended and they have said we dont have that particular drug. You will have to go elsewhere. Times where my prescription isn't even there after a week.The online ordering is good, but they take no notice of the comments section. It is a very rare occasion when my prescription is correct.

    I rang the surgery early morning requesting to see a doctor. (I have been ill for a week and barely eaten). I was asked if I had taken a covid test and told her I had taken 2, both negative. Her reply was she had to take 4 tests before it was positive??? She then said she would ring back later in the day. After waiting all day I rang back at 4.30pm and spoke with the same receptionist who said she had spoken to the doctor who said I should take another covid test and if it was negative to go to Selby war memorial hospital. (We live 150 mts from the surgery). No explanation for not calling back. If a receptionist can speak to a doctor about my symptoms surely the same doctor could discuss this with myself. Absolutely shocking service. I still feel shocking this morning and after taking a further negative covid test I am en-route to Selby war memorial as I have no faith in this practice
