  1. Review titled Problem with communication

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I have needed my prescription . I have been rejected by GP and been told to go back to hospital to ask for my prescription. I have done it and been told the GP should do the ongoing prescription for me. I have been dealing with this for two weeks never got Proper response. Now I’m without medication and not having any help from the GP at all. Rejected? Why ? Because it’s too expensive ?

  2. Review titled Proactive and great communication

Rated 5 stars out of 5

GP acted quickly from a seemingly mild symptom to what turned out to be chronic illness for my daughter. They supported us through the process to get seen by specialists as rapidly as possible - submitting tests and monitoring my daughters health and actively communicating throughout. After diagnosis they, continued to work between us and the hospital teams - so that things like routine tests can be carried out more local to us. They have a resident pharmacist who is great at communicating and the reception team are helpful despite being under an enormous amount of pressure. We have been treated with kindness and respect and the whole team has been proactive throughout what was a traumatic period in our family's life. We are grateful to have this GP surgery working for the best health interests of our daughter and can't thank them enough.

  3. Review titled Unacceptable service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Several weeks ago I started to liaise with one of South Park's doctors to arrange for my frail 88 year old mother to see a specialist after an emergency visit to A&E provided a short term fix to a potentially serious problem. I made clear that I would pay to see a specialist privately given the urgency. On return from a short holiday, I expected to find a copy of a letter to a specialist. Nothing. So I contacted the surgery who said that a referral had been made but only the secretary had the details and she wasn't working that day. I rang the next day to be told at 1445 that the secretary had left for the day. She would be in between 1000 and 1430 the next day "depending on the traffic." I called the next day to be told that a referral had not been made and I couldn't speak with the secretary because that was not normal practice. It was also suggested that I had "misunderstood" and sadly the practice couldn't access the (currently on leave) doctor's messages with me so could I send an email explaining the problem. I did. I also asked to speak with the practice manager. She rang me back after about 3 hours and I have now managed to book my mother an appointment with a specialist. Interestingly the practice manager was able to read my messages with the doctor.... She also said that the secretary worked from 0900-1500 each day. In summary, unacceptable delays by the doctor in making a referral for a vulnerable patient and a reception team who seemingly don't understand their own procedures.

  4. Review titled Appallingly inefficient

Rated 1 star out of 5

This practice took over 10 days to issue the required medical certificate for the registration of a death. It took the threat of a formal complaint by me and the Registrar threatening them with the Coroner’s Office for it to be done. In addition it has been three weeks and I am still chasing them for them the paperwork required for cremation. Holding up the registration process and the funeral of my mother is disgraceful, unprofessional and unacceptable. My mother died in a local home and the surgery had signed over the required end of life medication. Her death was predicted and not unexpected and therefore I fail to understand the delay in providing this basic paperwork. These delays have caused unnecessary stress to a family who should be grieving not chasing the surgery to do their job

Every dealing with every member of staff since registering my elderly mother at the end of April has been excellent. Courteous, helpful, very efficient staff help to turn situations of concern into positive ones.
