Review titled Good practice, there is just one GP that lets it down.
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 April 2024
I don’t mind the practice on a whole, but there is one GP that I’ve seen on a couple of occasions over the last couple of years, and she always talks to me as if she’s talking down to me. Is quite abrupt and rude and answers in such a way that you end up feeling really silly for ever asking the question. As if you have the knowledge of a GP and should know the answers. Which isn’t the case, but I do however have knowledge over my own body and know when something isn’t right. It makes me not want to go to the doctors anymore incase the appointment is with this GP (usually I don’t get told who I am seeing/who is calling) because I always leave feeling like a nuisance and it’s just not a very nice experience overall. I’ve never had an issue with the reception staff not once. The waiting times are kinda annoying, you can wait up to an hour after your scheduled appointment time sometimes. I understand it’s a difficult job in a difficult sector but if you actively choose to work with people then you should know how to talk to people.

Dear Mr Davis We are sorry you were upset by being directed to our Clinical Pharmacist for the review of your prescription. Our clinical Pharmacists is the best person to advise you on medication. Our clinical Pharmacist is a valued member of our clinical team here at Spring Gardens and is the best person to advise you on medication issues. It will also be quicker to see one of our Clinical Pharmacists than one of our GPs currently. We apologise that this was not explained to you fully when requesting your appointment. We have a varied clinical team and a GP is not always the best person to see in certain circumstances which is why our reception staff are trained to ask a few more questions to patients than in the past. We thank you for your feedback and will remind our reception team to explain this more fully in future Kind Regards Spring Gardens Group Practice

Review titled Can't book appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 December 2022
Can't book an appointment even when calling at 8.30 am, Lady on the appointment line is rude. Takes about 1 hour for them to answer the phone only to be told that they have no appointments. Someone needs to look into this surgery.

We do apologise that you found our reception staff rude and will look into this. Along with the rest of Primary care and indeed the whole NHS we are extremely busy at the moment. We are trying to cope with the normal winter pressures and this year many worried parents due to the concerns over the continued press alerts about StrepA. Please bear with us during this time, we are doing our best. Are you aware that you are able to call 111 who have access to some of our appointments if they deem this an Emergency as well as give you advice. You can also seek your local pharmacy for advice also. Please always let our reception staff know the problem as there are many other specialists they can book you in directly with other than the GP, including, physios, podiatrists, pharmacists, social prescribers and many more. Apologies once again, Spring Gardens Group medical practice.

I have been trying to get an appointment for 1 week , I call every day at 8.30 and get put on hold, it usually takes a minimum of 45 min to 1 hour to answer and when they answer they I am told they have no appointments and try again tomorrow. I walked into surgery and it was empty but they would not let me book an appointment, I can't understand why I can't get an appointment. so frustrating, all that while my issues is getting worse.

Dear Patient we do apologise that you found our reception staff rude and will look into this. They are though under a lot of pressure at this time and normally try their best to accommodate everyone. Along with the rest of Primary care and indeed the whole NHS we are extremely busy at the moment.
