Review titled They Don't Listen
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Peter Johnson - Posted on 27 July 2023
I have not been able to leave my house for over a year, and I've told various medical staff this at the practice. But now they insist I attend the surgery. Where is the compassion and self centered care? Simple answer, there is none.

Review titled Unnecessarily rude

The staff who answer the phones here are most garrulous and argumentative. I asked one to speak to their manager and they said "No" and put the phone down on me! Is this a GP practice or a side show comedy? You couldn't make this up.

Review titled Awful treatment

Treated most awfully on the telephone by staff. Ended up in tears, do they not understand mental health? Are they given up to date training? The mind boggles.

Review titled Awful for mental health
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 May 2023
Awful for mental health care this practice, pushed from pillar to post and passed around. Spoke to someone today who was happily going to leave me on another waiting list which can take a year, yet I'm meant to be classed as 'urgent' absolute joke.

Review titled Yet another disappointing experience here
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Greg Wootton - Posted on 26 April 2023
Appointment booked 10.00, still sat waiting at 10.30, student doc tells me he hadn't been notified I was waiting, five mins later he leaves the office to get advice and doesn't return until 10.55 after leaving me alone wondering what was happening, I have been with is practice for quite a while now and have never been seen on time but this was ridiculous.

I'm sorry that you had to wait. The practice is committed to training new GPs and all of the trainees are mentored by an experienced GP. Unfortunately, the GP mentor must have been consulting with another patient at the time hence the delay. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Review titled Shockingly bad
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Gareth Compton - Posted on 12 April 2023
Unfortunately, this is my Mother’s practice. She has dementia, we have PofA. At every stage they make things difficult. Repeated failures to refer to the memory clinic, causing a 6 month delay in diagnosis and therefore treatment. Almost impossible to get through on the ‘phone and when one does, surly, unhelpful staff. The receptionist claimed yesterday she could not access e-mails, could not transfer a call to someone who could access them and could not give her name or the name of any staff. She claimed the manager was unavailable, the assistant manager was unavailable. Asked who was in charge, she replied “No one”. If true, the CQC ought to shut them down urgently. We’re currently chasing an urgent prescription, sent by the memory clinic. Will we get a promised call back about it today? Of course not. Will we ever make contact with someone who will grip this and get an urgently needed prescription for an old lady with dementia? Of course not. Not only is there something very badly wrong with the management and culture at this practice, their incompetence and no-can-do attitude has had (and continues to have) very serious real-life consequences for my family.

Dear Patient, I am sorry that you had a difficult experience. The receptionists are trained to ask simple questions so that they can ensure you are seen by the most appropriate clinician. There is never a time when there is only a locum on duty. We have 4 GP partners and 3 salaried GPs. If you would like to contact me directly my telephone number is 01388 825212 and I would be happy to discuss your concerns further. Kind regards, Tracey Martin Practice Manager
