My mother is receiving end-of-life care. Despite this, vital repeat prescriptions - blood thinners, pain relief - are not processed or delivered before her supply runs out. The care manager has raised this issue with the GP surgery, repeatedly. I have done likewise only to receive an obstructive, shoulder-shrugging response from a receptionist. My poor Mum deserves better at the end of her life.

I've always been terrified of needles and blood but the lady from Newcastle not only did it with confidence and ease (obviously been doing it a long time) but went above and beyond to help me out with a same day appointment and showed kindness and patience when I was feeling vulnerable. I will only see her for a blood test now as such a good experience but I've never had any reason to complain about the practice as a whole. Thank you to the Geordie lady and I'm sorry I don't know your name but you're a gem!

Been waiting for request by Consultant to Surgery to be carried out since May,still no further forward despite playing the game of sitting on phone for 30 to 45 minutes a time to try and make an appointment only to be told none available, then to add insult to injury you cannot book an appointment but instead have to play the sitting on the phone game the following day to have same results. Truly Shocking!!!

St Andrews have been brilliant with my recent health issues. GPs have been quick to respond and follow up on treatment . Receptionists kind and helpful . Can’t thank them enough. They are up against it at the moment with an ever increasing workload.

I had some observations undertaken by the Paramedic (forgive me for failing to note her name) at the practice today and her care combined with her kindness made the entire experience extremely reassuring. She was immensely empathetic as well as person-centered and treated me with an affirming gentleness that quickly dissolved the concerns I had prior to entering the consulting room. A first-class professional who has all the qualities a patient could hope for and has not allowed the relentless shortage of resources over recent years to erode her natural ability to care for humanity in a gentle way.
