Want to St.Annes Surgery recently about a throat infection. The receptionist was very professional and I went to see the doctor and was prescribed some medicine which I took. My throat cleared up straight away and I would definitely recommend this surgery.

Review titled Disgraceful service
Rated 1 star out of 5

The difficulty in getting an appointment, or your phone call answered is appalling. The call back system doesn't work, as this week I was not called back on 2 ocassions. On one ocassion I was called back the following day. The option to get test results ask you to send an email, which I did but no one responded. I have called the surgery, was number 5 in the queue, and waited 90 minutes before the call was answered. I have emailed a complaint and have been ignored. The state of GP services really needs an overhaul, as like the patients I am sure the staff are frustrated and fed up to. I have no idea why I am paying national insurance as I rather spend it on private medical appointments. The only reason why I am still registered with the surgery is that every surgery is the same.

Review titled Avoid, terrible
Rated 1 star out of 5

A surgery not fit for purpose. They expect you to call from 8am to get an appointment - you get in a 60-80 minute queue only to be told they 'don't book for the future' and you have to call back at 11:30am, only for it to happen again and now you’re in the queue again for another hour. It is a disgrace that a surgery as large as this is offering substandard care to patients, disregarding that many people are in work and cannot be sitting on hold for long periods and even if they did the answer is “there’s nothing we can do there’s so many patients we are working on, call back tomorrow and maybe you’ll get an appointment” I don’t understand is it first come gets the appointment or the health situation. There is no actual care at the GP service. I was arguing about the DrIQ app and the receptionist told me it’s only open at 8am so I should have submitted it there when you’re app is never available. Absurd and negligent. Avoid if you want actual care from an actual GP

Have been coming to this surgery for quite a while. Last time was about two weeks ago. The Doctor was very understanding. He put my mind at ease by explaining everything to me clearly.

Review titled Repeat prescription fiasco
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Keith Waterhouse - Posted on 03 March 2023
Two days ago I ordered a repeat prescription for Ibuprofen and Enalapril Maleate. Today I went to collect the order from my local pharmacy and was told that a number of patients had not received a repeat prescri[option and I was one of them. The pharmacy was not informed as to why repeat prescriptions were not being honoured and patients had no idea what was going on. Very kindly, the pharmacy provided me with some medication to help me while the medical centre got its act together. My medication is for high blood pressure, type two diabetes and kidney problems so it is imperative that I receive my medication. I have now been told that one GP at the practice has gone; but how can this be allowed to affect the service of repeat prescriptions? There are other GPs and qualified staff who can deal with repeat prescriptions and are part of the team.

Review titled Are they closed for business?
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Keith Waterhouse - Posted on 09 March 2023
For the second week in a row, repeat prescriptions are not honoured and no explanation is forthcoming from the surgery to either the pharmacy or the long-suffering patient. Those of us running out of our much-needed medicine are longer receiving a duty of care from this surgery. I telephoned the surgery twice yesterday and was number fifteen in line, when I reached number one the system cut me off. This is not acceptable. The contractor managing this surgery has let everyone down by not ensuring that information has been communicated to patients and pharmacies, by failing to ensure that telephones are answered within industry standards and by failing to make sure that duty of care is a priority and provided. Service levels at this surgery have finally reached rock bottom. And it can only get worse as repeat prescriptions pile up and staff have to play a game of catch-up as new repeat prescriptions are requested.

Review titled Very bad Gp
Rated 1 star out of 5

The receptionist very rude and an friendly they are useless. Always don't have appointment, the only thing the saying go A&E or call 111 That's ridiculous two weeks now tried to get an appointment for my disabled sister and they just hang the phone or they don't have an appointment. I am struggling with them like nightmare for me if I need to call And today I was looking for different Gp to register her.
