  1. Review titled Very disappointing

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 March 2023

Rang today for a telephone appointment regarding my child. Receptionist was very curt and stand-off-ish. I was told a Doctor would call me by 6.30pm today. It’s now almost 8pm and still no phone call. Will now have to contact out of hours GP when I’ve already been waiting for hours.

Dear Anonymous, apologise for the late reply. I have investigated your query with regards to "no telephone call" on the date of the 9.3.23 there were 3 telephone calls booked for the afternoon and 4 in the morning for parents on behalf of a child. Every telephone was responded to with an audit trail of time and date and either a message left to contact the surgery if there was no response, or a response discussed with the parent. There was only one telephone call in the afternoon which was unobtainable. I am really sorry but I am unable to clarify anything further due to not knowing who you are. Could I politely ask that you check your contact details and update any forms of communication. With regards to the reception staff abruptness/stand-off-ish attitude I do apologise on behalf of the surgery this isn't our intention and If you would contact me I could request a telephone transcript to review the call and then provide additional training for the Patient Advisor if required. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Kind regards Marion Costello Practice Manager St Georges Surgery.

  3. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jill Chick - Posted on 24 March 2023

I have been with the practice for many years now and have always found it very accessible. I have not had to wait weeks for treatment whether by phone or in person. The follow up on new medication or tests has always been thorough. The staff have always been helpful. I’m happy.

  4. Review titled No appointments

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 February 2023

I have just got off the phone and am so disappointed , I asked for a simple appointment to see my Doctor about some severe allergic reactions I have been having , and was told its a routine matter which negates me from seeing a GP ! I complained and then was offered a telephone appointment for the 28th of February ??? .

Dear Anonymous, We have been experiencing an unprecedented number of patient contacts at the surgery, the demand being so great we have had to reduce the number of "routine" appointments to enable us to cope with the urgent demands on a daily basis and enable to us to work safely. We are working very hard to try and get additional locum cover to help us during this difficult time. We are monitoring this on a daily basis and yes this is completely out of the norm for St Georges where we have always been able to offer routine appointments a few weeks in advance. There are a number of genuine reasons why this is happening, Strep A out break, Hospital waiting times, double the increase in home visits due to strikes etc. We hope that St Georges patients will support us whilst we get through this difficult time, we are asking that if your reason to see a clinician is "routine" in nature that you contact your pharmacy in the first instance. We will always see you if your condition is such that it is urgent and hopefully we will be able to resume to a more normal appointment system soon. Thank you for your understanding and patience kind regards Marion Costello Practice Manager St Georges Surgery
