  1. Review titled receptionists is rude

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Danny - Posted on 15 April 2024

Receptionist interrupted me when explaining and try to manipulate conversation without hearing the full story which ended up with them being wrong and changing their answer which if they let me speak in the first place wouldn't have caused undue stress and got to the point quicker. They shouldn't assume they know the answers before you have finished explaining. Same story each time, also notice how they don't let you write a real review and get you to change it so many times.

  2. Review titled The Older Generation Forgotten About

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 June 2023

All I seem to get from this GP surgery is text messages reminding me of appointments, or asking me for information about medication and asking me to text back whether I still want something on my repeat prescription, and now I’m being asked to fill in a survey via text message. I have a mobile, not a landline. My mobile is my landline and it is used for calls incoming and outgoing only. I don’t do text messaging or emails and I don’t want these kind of messages sent to my mobile phone, since I have a basic non smart phone and I can’t read the text messages on the tiny screen, but apparently you cannot opt of this because I have a mobile phone registered with them. Absolutely ridiculous to put old people through this hassle. Personal care does not seem to exist anymore, it is a one size fits all, complete a form online to speak to a doctor or to ask a question. If I call I have to listen to 2 minutes of a GP talking me through options before I can speak to someone, I’ve normally nodded off by the end of the second minute and so have to start again. Please have some thought for the older generation, we are not all technically minded like the younger generation! I’ve reached a point where I dread having to contact the surgery to speak to someone!

Dear Patient, Many thanks for your valued feedback. We are very sorry that you feel you haven't received the best experience at Garnet Fold Practice. We do offer a lot of flexibility including daily face to face and telephone appointments. Our staff can also take a short message and complete queries for patients who are struggling with the technology. It is possible for patients to be opted out of receiving text messages, please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss this further or if I can help in any other way. Kind regards Lyn (Practice Manager)

  3. Review titled Room for Improvement!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by CA Farrimond - Posted on 05 November 2022

Today I rang the surgery hoping to get an appointment this afternoon for my 81 year old mother. I considered it an urgent matter. I was told that they prioritise 0-12 year olds. My mother has paid into the NHS all her life. To be told in an urgent case, her needs are less of a priority was in my opinion unsatisfactory. Surgery isn't open anymore on a Saturday morning so she has to wait until Monday! I have noticed (and it isn't just this practice) them regularly stating they are fully booked up and yet the surgery is empty apart from one or two people, certainly not packed out like they used to be. Doctors are continuously proclaiming to be overstretched in terms of not enough hours in the day and yet there is definitely no evidence of this! Trying to get a Drs appointment these days is very frustrating. All walk-in centres nearby no longer exist and A&E is always full with a wait of between three and four hours. A radical shake up is well overdue.
