  1. Review titled Designed to prevent patients being seen

Rated 1 star out of 5

It is almost impossible to get an appointment with a doctor at this surgery. Phone lines are open only a few hours per day, at times when most people are at work, and the wait on hold is always at least 30 mins. You can’t even make an appointment in person at reception - they tell you that you have to call! I actually sat in the waiting room today on hold trying to make an appointment, a few metres from the reception. I am now changing surgeries as the service is awful.

  2. Review titled Disappointed

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I called to book an appointment for my daughter at 11.30 in the morning, already missed two days off school. Receptionist aware of this. I was advised to call back again in the afternoon, did not state what time. I called at 16.31, on hold for 3 mins to be told to call back the following day as its outside of hours. Appalling service.

  3. Review titled a long time on the phone

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 August 2023

I was 14th in the queue but waited for my turn. Explained that I was asked to return after 2 months to see how treatment was working only to be put through to clinical support. On hold for one hour before I was cut off. This is appalling service. Phoned again in the afternoon and was on hold to clinical support for 50 min. Gave up and will look for another surgery.

  4. Review titled Gone down hill

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I contacted this practice about seeing a certain Dr, and was told I’m not allowed to pick who I want to see, and now trying to get an appointment on line (as they keep suggesting) well there are no appointments for the next minimal 16 weeks!! How pathetic with any of the doctors suggested!! And as I can’t use my phone at work during the times that they want you to call I’m not able to book an appointment but the staff that sit at the desk who just natter to one another when phones are ringing and haven’t got any manners at all.

  5. Review titled Frustrating service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Dawn Simmonds - Posted on 06 April 2023

I have been asked to ring my Doctor to discuss my medication before I can get it on repeat. Have now rang 3 times, get put through to the clinical team and my call is never answered, the shortest time I hung on for was 42 mins, the longest 53 mins. I will try once more then will go to the surgery and wait in there until I get to speak to a Doctor, even if I have to sit there until midnight or longer. The conversation will be very short so this is now ridiculous and so annoying.

  6. Review titled Really gone downhill

Rated 1 star out of 5

Pre-pandemic and even during the pandemic this was a perfectly good surgery, the service was never amazing but it got the job done. Now you have to wait on hold for anything up to an hour only to be passed through to clinical support who can’t even help you anyway and then you’re on hold again for another hour for a doctor or waiting for a doctor to call you back, which means the surgery is basically unusable for anyone who works full time. I’m not even asking for face to face appointments - the ability to book short telephone appointments online with a doctor/nurse during the pandemic was great and needs to be brought back. All you can book now is vaccines and smear tests. Very disappointing from a surgery my whole family has been using for decades.

  7. Review titled A GP practice with a Wow factor

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Eamonn Neville - Posted on 02 December 2022

We registered with St Heliers in Oct 2022. Wow we are so pleased we did. Our experience includes super friendly staff, a customer friendly telephone system that works, but it’s when you need to call the practice that you appreciate how effective the system is. I called at 11am, I was transferred to a senior Doctor who listened and determined a face to face consultation was required. I was given an appointment for 3.20pm the same day. The Doctor listened, recommended up to date medication and together we agreed an action plan. Wow I am so impressed, happy staff, excellent systems, so patient friendly. Thank you.

  8. Review titled Brilliant care throughout

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mike Collis - Posted on 08 November 2022

Thus practice is outstanding. You are spoken to by a doctor and, if necessary, seen on the day you ring. Everyone is courteous and caring. You cannot wish fir a better service. Thank you

  9. Review titled Things have slipped

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Throughout the pandemic I couldn’t sing your praises enough. Never struggled getting a appointment, these were all very phone in the first instance then called in if needed. The voice message at the beginning of the call explained it didn’t matter what time during either session you rang you would be seen to. Now I have rang every day last week and every day this week trying and trying to get an appointment and I’m getting nowhere. You’re in a ridiculously long queue first thing in the morning by which point apparently all appointments are gone. Go back to the telephone triage and help system because this is dangerous and ineffective.
