Review titled Thorough Examination - Nice Doctor
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Victoria Watts - Posted on 05 February 2025
I waited over an hour for my appointment and witnessed a complaint about this one Doctor. One patient cancelled her appointment because she was waiting. When it was my turn, the doctor was apologetic and really nice. She examined me and took her time to determine what might be the cause of my discomfort and we discussed my options. I would recommend her over and over again. I'd rather wait an hour for a good one than be on time with a not so good one. Thank you St James!

Review titled Great practice, fantastic doctor
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ryan Matthew Price - Posted on 28 February 2025
I recently experienced a pectoral tendon tear and have been extremely impressed with how my doctor and the team at the surgery have handled my situation. From the moment I consulted with my doctor, he took the time to assess the injury and ensure I understood the process. His attention to detail, professionalism, and care have made a potentially frustrating experience much easier to manage. The support I’ve received has been excellent. I truly appreciate the thoughtful and personalized care I’ve received here.

Review titled Diabetes clinic nurses kindness
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Joanna Smyth - Posted on 29 January 2025
After finding out in June I had cancer which has resulted in most of my pancreas and also my spleen being removed, I have found myself being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes today as a result. The nurse today was so kind and caring. She had so much knowledge, and after this new setback made me feel so much better in managing this additional diagnosis. She is an absolute credit to the NHS, St James Surgery (Dover), and feel so grateful I will now be under her care.

Had a problem ordering my meds online today as a fairly new one was not there listed yet. Rang the surgery and was put through to the Prescription staff who quickly and efficiently sorted me out! I love this surgery!!

Review titled Great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited with my 5 year old daughter. She has tummy aches and sickness and the doctor listened seriously to my concerns and talked about test results, and other tests we should do. I also mentioned bed wetting and he asked to rule out an infection - to which we found she had one so needed medication. It was lovely to feel listened to and no test being considered silly to do to get to the bottom of what was going on. Thank you for your time Dr Hill.

Review titled Great advice given
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Deborah Golden - Posted on 24 October 2024
I came for an appointment yesterday morning. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the person that I saw, my appointment was at 10:30am and he was quite young. He advised me to go to A&E due to my breathing and saturation levels. I attended hospital and was taken through to Majors assessment quite quickly and was given IV antibiotics and a nebuliser and a prescription for oral antibiotics. Thankfully due to his care I feel this morning that I can hold a conversation with people. In this day and age people are always quick to complain and slow to give praise. So can you please give him a heartful thank you and if he is a locum then you need to keep him.

Review titled Fantastic GP
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Hana Hill - Posted on 15 March 2024
I saw today 15.03.2024 at 10.20 a female GP in St James Surgery. I am so sorry I didn't catch her name. This lady is a gem among the other GPs I came across with. My job is bringing me to many various health settings and I meet a lot of professionals. This doctor is very professional yet friendly with the touch of warmth you can feel. Her advice was very reassuring and help me to get more peace on my mind. Also- she suggested a very good plan for the future in the case that suggested medication will not work. She managed to put me in such an ease that I asked her the question I would never asked any other doctor before. I am sure that this doctor is a very valuable asset for St James and she is exactly what you would expect from an ideal GP. I hope she will stay with you for long time and wish her good luck and all the best in her professional as well as private life. Thank you very much!

Review titled Good Reception people and great all round

Good people to deal with. Touch wood I cannot recall any problems. There seems to be a nice approach from the reception team even if your question might be a little tricky.
