Amidst tough times for patients and practices alike I have found St John's to be so helpful and responsive. A week ago I had a query that didn't need urgent review and I got offered an appointment within a few days. My specialists sent an email over for some treatment this morning, and it has already been issued in the early afternoon. I had to ask the practice to divert the prescription to a local practice and the staff member that picked up my call was friendly, competent, and helpful, and dealt with my issue with zero problem. I know that online access can be tough and a lot of people don't like that setup. But that seems to be the new way to try to keep up with the demand, and from what I hear the practices still using the more traditional approach mainly on the phone aren't faring much better, with people calling again and again and still not getting through. St John's has always done well by me and my family and they keep coming through for us, the doctors, nurses, reception, pharmacists, admin, the whole lot of them.

The doctors and staff at St Johns are great and I'm happy to be with this practice, where I have been a patient for over 25 years. The problem is in getting an appointment. The phone service just gives a message saying there are no appointments and to use the online service. The online service doesn't seem to be available except for a matter of minutes after 8am. Many older people may not even be able to use online technology anyway. And now today I've received a message saying there's a message on my NHS app. This tells me that for acute respiratory infections I can make an appointment at the (miles away) Trafford General Hospital. And my pharmacy can deal with 7 other conditions (though the link didn't allow me to learn which). The appointments situation is an utter shambles and it has been this way for a long time. People I know at other practices have no such difficulties and are amazed to hear of the situation at St Johns. It must be a terrible worry for those needing urgent GP attention, especially the old, the vulnerable and those not good with IT. Please sort it as soon as possible. Thank you.

Whilst I have only positive experiences of the medical staff,the appointment system is unworkable. Today the online appointment booking system opened at 8am and was closed by 8.05am. The system allowed me to type a message but closed before I could press enter. I then called to receive a message that there were over 30 people in the queue and no appointments available. The website indicates a link to a patient feedback form ...and then provides no form. In summary great medical professionals so badly let down by an atrocious system.

Attended with a cough ... Dr H sent me straight to A&E, via taxi, where I was admitted as inpatient for 8 days. Not what I expected! Car safely stored at GPs garage for me !!

It is incredibly difficult to book an appointment : the system has no flexibility or options besides phoning on the day : You have a greater chance of winning the lottery .Sadly I have no other option than to leave

Having had to deal with other GP practices on behalf of my parents, I have to say how absolutely brilliant St John's are in comparison. I've recently had an issue and the team (GP, nurses & pharmacist) all dealt with my swiftly and efficiently - a fabulous service.
