Review titled Telephone appointment - no one called
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 December 2024
Booked a telephone appointment online, doctor didn't call. I rang the surgery the following day and was told that I didn't attend a face-to-face appointment. It is not possible to book face-to-face appointments online so it can't have been. Then I get a stroppy text telling me I didn't attend and I should let them know next time. No email address available to contact surgery to make a complaint.

Review titled Poor availability to see the GP.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 April 2024
It’s truly insane that to see the GP, you need to either wait nearly four weeks for a routine appointment or you now need to call 9am or 2pm for some appointment raffle. Not disputing the service and care once you’re seen, however this current system is not fit for purpose as you are not able to be seen!!!! Even with a referral form the pharmacist in the Village to see the GP urgently, the receptionist sticks to the script of calling at “9am or 2pm”. They are taking on new patients despite be over subscribed and unable to provide a good service level currently. Tried to consult with a private GP who has also referred me back to my GP for further test. This system is not fit for purpose!

Review titled St. Mary's Surgery
Replied on 26 April 2024
Dear Patient, On behalf of everyone at St Mary’s Surgery, we are sincerely sorry that you have felt the need to write this review. You will be aware that the whole of the NHS - including general practice - is under a great deal of pressure. Our capacity to deliver healthcare at its maximum, but the level of demand for our services continues to grow alarmingly. We always endeavour to prioritise medical emergencies on the day, and regularly see more patients than we have appointments allocated for. Our clinicians and other practice staff are working extremely hard to meet such high demands. We are grateful to you for highlighting your concerns to us regarding our current appointment booking system. We want to reassure you that we are in the process for reviewing this as we are aware that the system, that has served us well for many years is now under strain and is difficult for our patients and our staff to work with. Once again, we would like to apologise but thank you for your kind comments regarding the care you receive at the surgery. We welcome you to come into the Surgery to discuss your thoughts further, and extend an invitation to you to join our reinvigorated Patient Participation Group where we regularly discuss such issues. Yours sincerely Alice Casserly Practice Manager
