I know you hear so much on the news about not getting a gp appt, but I have never had that issue with St Stephens. Today I called at 8.30 for an appt, took a while to get through but it is a Monday morning in the middle of winter! Seen the GP at 3.45 had my physical prescription by 4.00. The doctor was focused and attentive throughout the consultation. Just a very slick service.

All staff provide excellent care and attention and all appointments are offered on the day requested. Test results are updated on the NHS Patient Access mobile application within 24 hours to view.

The practice remains very busy- it always has been. Despite being held in a long queue on a number of occasions I was answered quickly and efficiently. The receptionist took details on on each occasion I was booked in appropriately. (Not urgent issues.) I was seen by a healthcare assistant who was excellent. once by a nurse and also by a GP. Each time I received good care. Clearly they are under pressure but I feel they are trying hard to manage what must be a difficult situation.

have recently had several appointments and I am very impressed with the time and consideration shown to me. In particular the Doctors have been very helpful and understanding with my ongoing severe COPD and taken the time to answer my queries and questions which are many. I have also found the Receptionists very helpful in sorting out appointments for me at short notice. I would recommend St Stephens/Maple View to anyone looking for a GP Surgery.

I have been trying to contact the surgery for the past couple of months to get a review on my medication eveytime I phone the receptions are unable to give me an appointment they say phone in a couple of days. So I send an email explaining this when I want a repeat prescription then I get a message from a gp saying I need a review, they have told me to go on patient access and book one it gives a list but not for what I need.. It seems to be a constant battle to get anything from that surgery and I have been with them all my life. The attitude of reception quite frankly stinks. I have other health issues but can never get appointment. I know you shouldn't use Google but may aswell self diagnose because you've got no chance of speaking to a go. I've actually waited in the queue which can be over 35 in the queue to be told by reception call again tomorrow. It can take up to an hour plus in that queue waiting listening to rubbish music. So I will send another email with a repeat prescription and get a text to say book appointment with the in-house pharmacist to review the medication. It's like roundabout just going round in constant circle. That surgery never seems to have anyone in there patient wise waiting to see someone. Poor service. Is this the way it's always going to be. Cus good luck if you actually want to speak to someone

Switching gps as had enough with this practice. I have been trying to get a prescription which my midwife has sent over multiple times and whenever I try to get this I’m told sorry can’t find it. I’m just redirected back to the midwife who sends it over again for the receptionist to just say the same. I’ve been there for an appointment before and the receptionist forgot the mark me in so I sat waiting for an appointment for 40 minutes when I questioned how much longer she laughed and said she hadn’t signed me in and now I’d have to make a new appointment. Staff as so incompetent it’s scary.

Start phoning at 8 30am and you are over 30 in the queue. 55 minutes later if you are lucky enough to be answered you are told that there are no appointments left, today i was actually cut off before I got to speak to a receptionist and was told I could not change the time of my joint injection and after some arguing was told I could It was that I could not get there for 10 am. I explained that I was upset due to my circumstances having been ill for 4 years and could not speak to a doctor but if I wanted to get an appointed I could always go to reception at 8 30am but as I live 2 miles away this is not possible I do not drive and cannot use public transport. Please employ more telephone staff and be a bit more flexible svae some appointments for those who have to use the phone not everyone has access to the internet

The whole team from doctors and the whole medical team to reception and all the admin staff are wonderful. They have gone above and beyond to help and support me through my situation so far. Nothing has been too much trouble even when they are extremely busy with patients and admin duties themselves. I was speaking with one of your administration team earlier today who was really lovely, so helpful, understanding, and full of empathy towards my situation. I can’t thank you enough for your kindness and continued support going forward in a heart breaking situation I find myself in as a daughter and full time carer. Thank you x
