Review titled Great Customer service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 January 2025
When I needed help with an urgent appointment the receptionist the young man went the extra mile to get me the appointment. It was appreciated he made me feel I mattered and not a nuisance. This is what patients need to feel, for when they have a health issue and are concerned. They call the doctor's surgery because they have nothing to do. They call when they are in need. This young man, is to be commended for his compassion

Review titled providing a stool specimen for testing
by hadarpc86 - Posted on 03 October 2023
the GP advised my son to take a stool test, the first specimen was given in only to find out after 2 months that it has been lost on the way to the lab. the second specimen has been given in only to find out after 3 weeks that the label with patient details was missing, (knowing that it was in the bag when handing over), wondering how the front desk took it without checking that all is correct. it is now 3 months that we are waiting for a specimen test but with no luck and a incompetent system.

Dear hadarpc86 I am very sorry to hear that your son's specimen was lost and that it took two months before you were made aware of it. I am not able to find out where the details on the second specimen went missing, our reception team usually check that the patient details are with the specimen and I'm sorry to hear that this was not the case. I understand that this must have been very frustrating for you. I will discuss your concerns with the staff and reiterate to them the importance of checking that the patient's details are enclosed when samples are handed in. I hope that your son has managed to get the tests he needed. You can call the surgery, and ask to speak to a member of the management team if you have any concerns or if you would like to discuss this matter further. Best wishes, Maxine Powell Joint Practice Manager

Review titled A secretary who has gone the extra mile
by Chaim C - Posted on 22 August 2023
Last week while on holidays, it was 5pm, we noticed that my Daughter with Downs Syndrome doesnt have enough Movical for that night. The local chemist was closing at 6pm and told me that if we get a prescription to him beforehand he would give me the meds. I called the surgery. The receptionist was extremely kind and understanding. She told me to wait, and asked the Dr on-call to prescribe and send it to the chemist near us on holidays. In 10 mins it was sorted. Thanks. It was a life saver. At the same time, i want to put in a good word for the special Dr, Dr Blumberg. He always goes the extra mile to help us when ever he can. We as a family are very grateful for all of his help for the past 25 years. Keep up your great service.

Review titled Being unable to get through on phone

I am very sorry to hear that you were held in our appointment queue for over an hour. Unfortunately, this can happen sometimes if you were waiting to use the automated service and there were not any appointments available. It can also happen if the receptionist stops taking calls to speak to a doctor for example and forgets to log out of receiving calls. These calls keep looping around the system. The reception team are reminded regularly that they must remember to log out. We are planning to upgrade our telephones to a cloud based system. There will be an option for the patient to request a call back. Instead of waiting in the queue, the call will be kept in a virtual queue and the patient will be called back when they get to the top of the call queue. We will be adding more options that can be done by using your telephone keypad, such as ordering repeat medication and booking appointments for reviews. We are hopeful that this will improve patient access and ease frustration for patients and staff. I hope you managed to speak to a member of the practice, if you didn't, please try contacting us again. You can ask to speak to the Practice Manager if you have any problems. Kind regards, Maxine Powell Joint Practice Manager.

Review titled 2.15 hours on phone. Still waiting to book appointment
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 March 2023
Continuing from my last live review in an attempt to score a doctor's appointment: After more than a 2 hour wait, I'm still #1 in the call queue - and have been for the past 20 minutes. This is my fourth attempt to get a doctor's appointment. A past failed call which just ended with no doctor's appointments available. An attempt to register for online appointment access (Not possible according to a later explanation from reception. The person there said the doctor's perfer to triage their own appointments so it has to be via on the dat phone even if you're looking for a future appointment) The third attempt was at reception, requesting they book my appointment for a future date. That was not possible the person said - refer to the above explanation in brackets, which also precluded booking appointments online). So, I'm now at 2 hours and 15 minutes of holding on the phone - in hope of an appointment at some point. By the time I actually get an appointment, and then later speak to the doctor it may even exceed three hours! Extraordinary. And from what I hear this is not an exceptional case. A neighbour told me they went to a different practice as they could actually get an appointment, and easily.

Review titled Problematic to book doctor appointments
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 March 2023
I'm leaving this review after calling at 8am and still on hold 90 minutes later. 8.05am I was at #5 in the queue. That lasted half an hour. I finally got to #2 after 50 minutes on hold. I've now been at #2 for 40 minutes! Pretty remarkable. I've delayed requesting a doctor's appointment for months due to this system. I've asked to make an appointment in person at reception and been told this is the only option! Despite clearly not working? A neighbour warned me they switched practices due to this problematic system, which appears to date back years. Yet nothing changes? Oh and I'm still on hold as I write this review - still at #2!

Dear Madam We spoke earlier this morning, regarding the difficulty that you had experienced today with our telephone system. As soon as you alerted me to the problem I was able to identify that a technical problem had occurred with our automated booking system (Patient Partner) and you had got caught up in that system, which shouldn't have happened and we were able to resolve that immediately and I am very sorry that this happened to you today. A similar error with the system has happened before and we have raised this with the supplier to requesting it to be rectified or to suggest that they are able to flag to us if there are problems with the system so that we can alert service users. I did discuss the appointment system with you and the available options for booking appointments with the practice which are either available to book on-line or on our automated system and these are available at 8am from the previous day. We also have on the day appointments which are available by calling on the day at 8am and most recent is an on-line consultation form which we have just started using whereby you can complete an on-line form and return it to us and the doctor will triage the form and take the next suitable steps for the patient and there is a 72 hour turnaround time with the on-line form. I did send you the link to this for future use and we are sending it to any service user that is interested in using it and it will be uploaded onto our website next week. Once again I am sorry that your call got caught up in our technical issues earlier today and hope that the different options of making an appointment will make your next contact with the practice much smoother. Kind regards Tania Fidler (Practice Manager)

Dear Sir or Madam I am sorry to learn that you have been having difficulty making an appointment. I am not sure if you are trying just one particular doctor or different doctors because yesterday we did still have several appointments available at 1.30 pm, as I booked one myself for a patient. Appointments are available on our automated system, via the NHS App, or by calling the surgery so if you are still experiencing difficulties please do call and ask to speak with any member of the management team who will be happy to support you with arranging an appointment. Kind regards Tania Fidler (Practice Manager)
