  2. Review titled Very unhappy

by Beth - Posted on 10 October 2024

Unfortunately, I have been having an issue with my bowels for over 2 years. Every time I called, spoke to the receptionist’s they were very blunt and rude. However the issue I’ve been having I got diagnosed originally was “you’ll have to live with it” I kept pushing for answers because I knew this wasn’t right and unfair that I’ve not had any treatment. After 2 years I’ve now started to get seen to and very thankful for the one doctor that actually took his time to listen to what I was saying to get to the bottom of the issue. To say I’ve been living with this condition for 2 years and had to suffer in agony to now actually having to be referred to hospital as an urgent referral is devastating. Really unhappy, stressed and mental health really has taken a toll on me. Please do better to listen to your clients and patients in future, especially when they are constantly ringing and trying to find a solution

Conscientious and prompt. Telephone answered quickly. The nurses are always polite and try and accommodate you with prompt appointments. All doctors are very accommodating and will not hesitate to spend time with you to ensure a correct diagnosis. This then is backed up with prompt medication when required from the pharmacy

  7. Review titled Not good

Rated 1 star out of 5

Had an appointment back in January. Was referred to another GP which I’ve waited over 6 months for. To be told that they don’t deal with that issue there and shouldn’t have been referred. I was then given a sheet on what to do. Utterly pointless me waiting 6 months as they couldn’t do what I was told by station road. Waste of my time

  8. Review titled Amazing practice & staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lara - Posted on 13 September 2023

Having been a patient at this surgery for over 10 years I have experienced only outstanding care. I recently submitted an online consultation and was given a face to face appointment the same morning. Primary care is a challenging place to be with staff shortages and not enough GP’s being trained but this surgery is still delivering outstanding care! Keep up the good work Station Road Surgery!

  9. Review titled Horrendous practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

Worse doctors and experience I have received. If you are ill and registered here recommended you go straight to A&E or call 111. Not sure why have receptionist as ask you to do online consultations, where you wait over a week for response then tell you go to pharmacy who can’t help, even though you have seen a pharmacist!!! Doctors not interested don’t want to see you and tell you if symptoms get worse just call 111. Wanted some antibiotics for chest infection for my son who was sitting GCSE’s doctor not interested when eventually spoke to one hadn’t even seen my son so how would they know how bad he was, therefore exams taken whilst having bad chesty cough. A soul disgusting behaviour with no care at all for their patients. They might as well save money with not having receptionist and put into more doctors as I have said they only tell you to fill online form!!!!

We are sorry to hear you had a bad experience at the surgery. In this climate of severely high demand on services we do have to ask patients for an idea of their problem so that we can prioritise the more unwell, especially those who are critically ill. This is best done via the online consultation or by allowing the receptionist to ask a few general questions. We understand and empathise with your frustrations. We are trying to improve our services.

  10. Review titled Excellent Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gary Williamson - Posted on 02 September 2024

In April, after months of badgering from my wife, I went into Station Road Surgery to book a "well mans" appointment. The explanation and subsequent actions, from an extremely helpful receptionist, resulted in me completing an on line questionnaire and within 24hrs of walking into the surgery me having appointments at Calderdale Hospital for 3 separate issues, plus meeting the Surgery visiting Physiotherapist. The outcome to all these appointments was I saw "experts" in their field, who were able to provide a quick diagnosis and remedial treatment. During this period, the practice nurse and my doctor kept in contact with me via phone and email, to ensure I was receiving the appropriate support and provide an "layman's" explanation. The end result was that all my concerns, were diagnosed, treated and I had a full and clear understanding of what was wrong and how the NHS were going to provide on going treatment. All this happened over a period of 21 days from first talking to the receptionist - Fantastic. Gary Williamson
