  1. Review titled Receptionists are very helpful and efficient

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John Picozzi - Posted on 06 August 2024

I called at 8am and was 6th in the queue, I was answered within 5 minutes. My appointment was 20 minutes late but not a problem. The doctor I saw does lack personal skills and bedside manner but did what was required adequately.

I spoke on the phone on behalf of my 88year old mother with a lovely receptionist who was really helpful. She listened to me, said that she would speak to the GP and rang me back within the hour . She was friendly , polite & had a sense of humour.I can’t fault the service I received from her.

  3. Review titled Great receptionist

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I rang to get results of a recent x-ray. The receptionist was very polite, helpful & gave me the results. I had a further question relating to an on going issue & she was extremely helpful. She advised me of the best way to go forward & what to do when so I now know what to do. This was very reassuring & I feel happy with the outcome. Thank you so much, I wish I could name the lovely receptionist but I forgot to ask her name.

  5. Review titled Great service

My teenage son needed to talk to a doctor about various health anxieties following a virus which led to him being treated in hospital and post-viral fatigue. The doctor examined him thoroughly, talked through issues and provided excellent advice which really helped. She is kind, sympathetic, knowledgeable and practical. A superb GP.

  6. Review titled My good experience with a receptionist .

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Moira mcadam - Posted on 25 July 2024

Having rung the surgery at 8 a/m, I was informed that the only available appointment was at an inconvenient time but the receptionist suggested that I ring back later. She actually rang me back saying an appointment had become available for later in the day which I thankfully accepted. I was extremely grateful to the receptionist as I think she realised what pain I was in. It was refreshing to deal with a competent receptionist.

  7. Review titled Very poor repeat medication system

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 May 2024

For sometime after covid this surgery still had 5 working days lead time to obtain a repeat prescription. It changed to 3 days and then recently they added it may be four days if we are busy. I sent a triage request for it to be signed off as I had run out of meds they replied by text to say the prescription had been sent to the Duty Doctor to be re-authorised. So four days later having checked Patient Access the prescription has still not been signed off by a GP. This is not the first time. What is the point of having hi-tech solution if it takes longer than the pen-and-paper system?

  8. Review titled Very rude receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Katie - Posted on 15 April 2024

Awful GP , I was 30 min on hold and 36 on a waiting list 12:30 I got through to a receptionist (very rude woman ) starting yelling at me how it’s not her fault that they have no appointments left , when I said I needed an appointment for my kids for today, they need to know how to treat patients properly and make patients feel welcome not anxious after talking to them .

  9. Review titled Terrible Appointment System

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by David Wenzel - Posted on 19 March 2024

Just you try to get an appointment. I used the NHS app (I find this quite good) at spot-on 12o'clock. Wanted a face to face appointment, and several were available so I chose one. Had to enter a reason for the appointment so quickly did this (you have to be quick). The system came back with "appointment not available. Go back and choose a different time". It was now 2 minutes past 12. No appointments left! The system is very poor and extremely frustrating - to allow you to "reserve a time" and then refuse it. I wouldn't mind but it's always like this. It needs re-programming. I will say, though, that in all my dealings with the receptionists and doctors they have been very polite and helpful.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, the NHS App is not designed by the Surgery, nor do we have any control over the App architecture. We recognise this is an issue however, and suggest in future you need not write much in the appointment reason box so that you can confirm the appointment before the slot is taken by another user. Alternatives are to visit Reception or phone at midday to pre-book routine appointments. To give the most equity to all patients these are released on a first come first served basis. We hope you understand and thank you again for your feedback, Station Road Surgery
