I had to have an injection to boost my calcium levels after breaking my hip last October. The Nurse explained it all to me.

Although the service I received was only slightly late, was professional, courteous, and confirmed my reason for being there offering advice. I did however need to book a follow up appointment which I couldn’t do as there was nothing a available for the whole of June and was told to check back in 2 weeks to see if any more dates were made available. I’m sure this is as frustrating for the practice as it is for me. I have to schedule my appointments as I work all week, and as the practice doesn’t open at the weekends, I do have to take time away from work. Giving my employer sufficient time to plan ahead. Although sent an email and posters up in the surgery saying I can book everything online. This is not true . There is very little you can book online. So making the effort of trying to save time for all is redundant. So you are forced to phone after 8 and sit in a queue. To be told to call another time and ever decreasing circles. I have diabetes and currently on a reversal program. So I am doing everything I can to remain well. I don’t think the same can be said for the practice. My diabetic review will now be out your the surgery set time scales because I can’t get an appointment. Not sure what it is I can recommend. When you get there everything is great, trying to get there is like the 100 years war, it’s about perseverance and determination.

Dear Tam Thank you for taking the time to add a review to our website and thank you for the positive comment. I am sorry you have had difficulty in making an appointment, although on the 15th April 2024 we changed our appointment system to total triage for GP appointments. This means that you now request routine and review appointments via E-Consult which removes the need to call at 8am, sit in a queue only to find that there are no appointments. Patients that are unable to access online can call the surgery and a care navigator will complete the form on your behalf. All requests for routine appointments are now triaged in priority of need by our admin team, supported by GP's. Currently we have GP routine appointments available from 6th June. However, if its a nurse appointment for your diabetic review then we have appointments available from 4th June. If you are still having difficulties in booking an appointment, I am happy to discuss with you. Janet Fry Practice Manager

Review titled Great care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Karen Seal - Posted on 11 May 2024
The doctors and nurses that have delivered care to me have been exceptional. The doctor diagnosed a suspected burst appendix, he was correct, got me admitted into hospital straight away.On leaving hospital the surgery gave me follow up blood tests and when I showed the nurse a problem, seen by doctor immediately and re admitted to hospital. On discharge the nurses have been seeing me daily for ongoing care. The nurses are always professional, cheerful and look after me well

Review titled Medication Review
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by James Moulson - Posted on 03 May 2024
I asked for a medication review, with a doctor, following recent experience with 111, practice visit and hospitalisation. This was arranged following a persistent request at reception. I saw a doctor who was very understanding and agreed that I had not received the correct medication, or indeed received a proper examination to determine my condition following a visit to Gosport War Memorial Hospital on Easter Sunday. The diagnosis was inflamed Polymyalgia Rheumatica and the Prednisolone medication was increased 5 fold for 5 days. This proved incorrect and did not improve my condition. I had an appointment on 05 April to review my condition and was subsequently diagnosed with Sciatica! I was subsequently admitted to hospital with sepsis. As it was not clear what dose of Prednisolone the Consultant stabilised it at 5mg. At my review of 2nd May with the doctor it was agreed that I should remain on 5mg for a month and then reduce by 1mg at four weekly intervals. The appointment, I thought was most constructive, and positive.
