  1. Review titled Extremely Rude Receptionist

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 September 2022

There are some wonderfully polite receptionists in this surgery, but there are others (I have one person in mind whom I've interacted with) who are so distasteful to interact with. Incidentally, the latter is normally an older woman (I didn't catch the name of the person, but she appeared a bit older to her colleagues). She was visibly annoyed at the sight or sound of me (I don't know why) and spoke to me in a dismissive and rude you way. Even when I've tried calling on telephone, this lady normally answers, and I get spoken to so rudely. I went to Google reviews and noticed others have similar feedback with respect to this surgery. Something must be done about this. It is most unpleasant to be engaged with in such a hostile and dismissive way, especially in a medical centre where people come with enough baggage and stress.

  2. Review titled No booking

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Kieran - Posted on 25 August 2022

I booked an appointment on the 16th to be seen for physio! Got told to I would be seen on the 25th at 8:00 when I arrived there was no recall of my booking nothing had been logged at all, so I had completely wasted my time. The gentleman who I spoke to when I arrived expressed his apologies and said he couldn’t understand how this has happened.

  3. Review titled Excellent Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

With all the negativity about GP surgeries I wanted to strike a balance by saying how excellent the Summertown Health Centre is. There is very little waiting time to talk to Reception Staff who are friendly and very helpful. I've subsequently been able to speak to a Duty Doctor (the same day) and immediately given a prescription or referral (X-ray etc).

  4. Review titled Failure to make referral a final straw

Rated 1 star out of 5

Having struggled over the past two or three years to get advice from gps at this surgery on how to manage my recently-developed psoriasis - advice on how to use the medicines prescribed has varied from none to inconsistent - I asked the gp I spoke to in August to be referred to the Dermatology Department at the JR hospital. He agreed to make the referral. However, on checking over a month later to see if the referral had been made I have now found out that there is no record of this having been done. I will now have to try to get another appoinment to speak to a gp in order to persuade them to make a referral. The gp in question told me that psoriasis is generally managed by the surgery, but my experience means I am lacking confidence in such a process and would like to talk at least once to a specialist.
