  1. Review titled Still closed

Rated 1 star out of 5

I just don't understand why, when the rest of the country is open for business and back to near normal after covid, this practice insists on only letting people have telephone appointments unless a doctor says he needs to see you. You can only book a telephone appointment if you are one of the lucky people that can use their phone at your place of work for personal calls (I can't), and if you can then you will be lucky to get through within an hour. You're always number 40 something in the queue and when you do get through there are no appointments left. There must have been so many missed infections and illnesses over the past couple of years because a doctor can sometimes see things by looking at a patient that the patient can't tell him over the phone. The government have tried encouraging gps to resume a normal service, but its time they insisted on this . In fact gp's should only be paid for patients they see face to face not for phone calls because surgeries like this will always take advantage and do less work for what they earn.

  2. Review titled Shocking receptionists with no empathy

Rated 1 star out of 5

Phoned a number of times to book an appointment to ask for help (most likely a referral) after witnessing a suicide.... and it's too much to ask for any empathy or assistance from the receptionists at this practice. Too busy gatekeeping to actually let a medical practitioner actually speak to you. Seems that it's not urgent enough for any how reaches out for help when they are struggling and all I can do is keep calling back, being put on hour for 50 minutes at a time for no actual help ever in the vain hope of maybe getting an appointment at some point before flashbacks or my me tal health fails. Avoid Swanpool Medical Centre like the plague! You'll probably be better off for not dealing with them at all.

  4. Review titled No point in it being open

Rated 2 stars out of 5

You can never get through to the surgery .. And if you do they never have appointments… I called at 8am on the dot to be told by the automated voice, that it would take 88minutes to get through. This surgery is a shambles . Receptionist act like they’re doctors & need to stop asking people’s business! Wouldn’t recommend!!

  6. Review titled Dangerous practice Avoid

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Katie Gill - Posted on 30 September 2022

Avoid this practice like the plague!! My father is on end of life care and requires weekly blister packs. For the past two weeks the doctors have not signed his prescription on time and he has been left with no medication. The pharmacists have spoken to the surgery explaining how the prescription needs signing, yet they still haven’t signed it in time. I have requested to speak to the practice manager but conveniently ‘they were not available’. The surgery have refused to asked the doctor to sign the prescription as they have 48hours to do it, even though this means my dad does not have medication for Monday. We have rang the pharmacist for a prescription, but due to the medication he requires they can’t give us one. This is not the first time we have had issues, and it is down to the surgery’s lack of professionalism, duty of care and delay in opening the surgery post Covid (even though told to by the government) that my father is in the situation he is in now. Please Please avoid this practice, they are dangerous and should not be open, they are not safe.
