  1. Review titled Bad practice!!!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 August 2024

Why are we making appointments if we came in and still have to wait up to one hour to be call in ? It's very frustrating and stupid especially if you have children. Just give the right time for the appointments and call us in in maximum 10-15 minutes

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry indeed that you have not had a positive experience at the Practice. We absolutely do not want any of our patients having to wait extended periods of time to see our clinicians but unfortunately we can not plan for any emergencies that present at the Practice or for patients who are found to be more unwell or their condition more complex than they first thought. Our clinicians want to give all of our patients the care and attention that they need and whilst that may cause delays to those waiting which is understandably frustrating, it is unfortunately unavoidable. If you wanted to contact the Practice direct we would be happy to investigate any particular situations where this has happened and perhaps be able to outline the reasons. Kind Regards Mrs. L Bruton Practice Business Manager Tamar Valley Health

  2. Review titled Chaotic

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Linda Leitchman - Posted on 27 August 2024

I get my medication from Pharmcy2U but unfortunately order it though systemonline through my GP practice. Every time I order I have to remind them of my order! This time I cannot order 3 things until I have had a review. My ‘review’ was a blood test which I have had and still I cannot order my medication. The whole situation is chaotic and frustrating. Trying to make an appointment can take a few days. I have seen my allocated doctor once in two and a half years, there is no continuity as I see different people most times. When I asked why my medication takes so long to get to me I was told they ‘sit’ on it for a week before it is signed off. Why? Never had these problems from my previous health centre and I worry about getting too low with my medication. Forgot me completely once and I had to get an emergency prescription. I know they are busy but so was my previous practice. Neither my husband nor myself feel looked after and are concerned at times for our future health.

Dear Linda Leitchman, Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry indeed to hear that your experience at the Practice has not been positive. I have reviewed your feedback and can hopefully help to explain our processes below. Our annual reviews are run in a month of birth structure and we aim to update all medication to run in line with that. This can sometimes become out of sync if any changes occur to your medications. We will always provide an additional months worth of medication if a review needs to take place to ensure that patients are not worried about running out. Please do let us know if there is anything that needs updated in the meantime. In terms of our routine appointments with GPs, these usually start with a telephone call which can be booked up to 4 weeks ahead. You can also submit an online request via Accurx that will be reviewed by a clinician within 3 working days. We have a team of clinicians who run our acute appointments on the day. You can always request to speak to particular clinicians and we very much promote continuity wherever possible. The waiting time to speak to or see the Doctors will vary depending on how many days they work. Our policy for repeat medication in the Practice is a 5 working days turn around, this is the case for medications that we dispense in the Practice and medications that are due to be sent to other pharmacies/companies. This ensures that all of our patients are treated equally. I hope that helps to explain some of our processes in the Practice, please do not hesitate to contact us if there are any particular occasions/situations that you would like us to investigate. Kind Regards Mrs. L Bruton Practice Business Manager

  3. Review titled Uncontactable

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Worried - Posted on 15 May 2024

Please answer the phone. I’ve been trying to return your missed call for three days, at all times of the day. The line is usually engaged. On the occasions the system answers, I make to “next in the que” (after 20 minutes) then it hangs up on me. My prescription is about to run out and your system is like a fortress!

Dear Patient, We are sorry indeed that you have been unable to contact the Practice when you have tried. Another option to make contact with the Practice is to send a query via our website or via Accurx. The link for the website and to Accurx to are below if you would like to use one of those. If your query was in relation to ordering medication, there are several options available - you can use the NHS app, systmonline account, airmid app, dropping in a hand written request through our dispensary hatch or our letter box when we are closed. We are unable to take verbal requests for medication. I hope one of the options above can support you making contact with us and apologise again that you have not been able to make contact on the times you have tried. https://tamarvalleyhealth.org.uk/navigator/ask-the-practice-a-question/ https://florey.accurx.com/p/L82012 Kind Regards TVH

  5. Review titled Prompt and effective Service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Derick Barnes - Posted on 11 February 2023

The practice provided a prompt and effective service in helping me regain my hearing, due to blocked ears. I recommend they continue offering ear wax clearance procedures and hope they offer micro-vacuum, which I understand is being considered by the GP’s. Well done to all the staff in maintaining an effective NHS Service.

  8. Review titled Outstanding Primary Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John Kidd Fyffe - Posted on 09 November 2022

I was recently seen by a Dr on Monday 7th Nov and this GP is everything you would expect of a caring, professional and first-class doctor. She was attentive, caring, thorough and even followed up the next day with a telephone call. She is a great credit to the NHS and the Callington Surgery and I only wish that every experience with the NHS was at this high standard. Outstanding Quality Care...Thank You John
