I had difficulties with obtaining a repeat prescription. Reception went out of their way to phone numerous contacts to ensure I received my medication. Very happy and relieved to have their assistance.

  3. Review titled Tremendous response

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have had a difficult couple of years. Culminating in severe pain in my right hip. I also experienced prostate problems. I had x-rays on my hip and was told that the arthritis was "moderate" and (basically) I should put up with it. I wrote to my Gp practice explaining the problems that I was having and that, as a reasonably fit 75 year old man, the problems were severely impacting me. And so I was referred on. The surgeon examined me and recommended a hip replacement. This all took place very quickly from the second referral. During this period of time I was unable to do any exercise and as a result the pain in my hip decreased to a much lower level. As the pain in my hip decreased, so did my prostate and bladder problems and now my symptons are in line with the diagnosis of a slightly enlarged prostate. I have had hip replacement (5 days ago) and I already feel less pain. This is, I think, because the doctors at the practice listened to me and my problems and followed up allowing me to regain my mobility and reducing my need for treatment, not only on my hip, but also on my prostate.

  4. Review titled Lovely, helpful doctor

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Getting an appointment is the hardest part and I was eventually referred to the Miriam Centre. A follow up call was done a fortnight later and the doctor decided to book an appointment to see him. His consultation was excellent, he was very helpful and everything he did and advised was very helpful. He has just followed up with another telephone consultation, most unexpected, but very welcome, just to check how my skin condition is doing and offered a further prescription. Very happy with the service received.

  5. Review titled Welcome opportunity

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Steve Curtis - Posted on 05 March 2024

I went along with my wife for her previously booked appointment. There were young trainee student doctors at the practice and we agreed they could ask my wife about her symptoms, prior to seeing the resident Doctor They were thorough and very pleasant. When the doctor came in he was also his usual attentive and helpful self. There was sufficient time for my wife to ask her questions to both the student doctors and our resident doctor. I was also able to participate. When the appointment was finished and the doctor asked was there anything else? I asked him if I could ask him something and he agreed. The result was that if I would wait until he finished with his booked appointments that evening, he would give me an opportunity to discuss my concerns. I was able to do this and subsequently was able to sit with the doctor and discuss my concerns. I’m glad I did and was very grateful for his attention and advice. I’m currently following up on his advice and recommendations and glad I am. It’s not so easy to get an appointment to see a doctor these days when you (ideally) would prefer, and given the visit was for my wife I was very grateful for the opportunity given to me….which may of not occurred at another GP Practice….?

  6. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The practice is very effective in terms of making an appointment. You can book the same day appointment if matter is urgent and also get appointments in advance. The doctors are very attentive to your needs and always try to get follow up investigations in a timely manner. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this practice.

  7. Review titled Quick response to a worrying condition

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had been experiencing dizzy spells for a week before I phoned the surgery. The receptionist was extremely helpful and I was given a telephone consultation the same day. The Dr phoned in the afternoon, asked lots of relevant questions but needed a face to face to properly diagnose. He asked if I could attend at 17:30, same day. When I saw the Dr he diagnosed Bppv and suggested trying some simple exercises. He helped me to do the exercise and the relief from the symptoms was immediate. I left the surgery in a much happier frame of mind and felt confident that my condition was in hand. I continued to do the exercise 3 times a day over the next 5 days and I am now symptom free. This was a very good experience for me and an excellent service from this Surgery. Thank you.

  8. Review titled Always poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

Continuously poor service. Long waits for calls back. Test results always delayed without valid excuse. Most recently, contacted using E-Consult at 8:30am Wed regarding follow up from an out of hours consultation with a doctor over the weekend because symptoms still ongoing. Automated response is will be contacted by doctor by 6:30pm following day. Call the following day at 2pm to say still not heard from anyone, told a message would be put through to doctor that it was urgent…. Come 6:30pm, still no contact. Going into long Bank Holiday weekend now with no GP service and having to contact NHS 111/out of hours service again for solution. Shocking GP surgery.
