Review titled Great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Thomas Spillane - Posted on 19 December 2024
I have recently had a phone call with my General Practitioner. The G. P. was able listen to my problem and communicate without bias. After I needed to contact the reception for a blood test. This was arranged immediately. The receptionists were friendly and caring. This has not been the first time I have experienced exactly the action I desired from my phone call. I was also sent a text message to remind me of my appointment. Unfortunately I had to reschedule. I called the reception and I apologised. The new appointment was rescheduled at a more convenient date next month, which is organised. This experience helps me to plan for my future health and gives me confidence in the team that I will be okay! Everyone has been so patient with me. This organisation balances equal-time with quality medical care. Thank you.

Review titled Very unprofessional. Did not help at all
Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been fighting with acne for years now, so I decided to book a telephone appointment which I had to wait a week for. The doctor I dealt with was extremely patronising, and very unprofessional. I had clearly stated that one of the creams she prescribed did not help for me and she still prescribed it. I was put on antibiotics, and started asking questions about if they will cause me issues with bacteria in the gut, she said that she doesn’t know and that I just need to take it. This didn’t feel like she was treating me but more like she wanted to get the appointment over and done with. She didn’t answer any of my questions nor she gave instructions. I am very upset about the situation and it is a recurring issue in my life.

Review titled Disappointed
Rated 3 stars out of 5

My experience at the practice has always been a positive one apart from my most recent communication with the practice. The lack of empathy or understanding from the receptionist left a lot to be desired. Due to the nature of my job I am unable to just take a call on a wimp. I tried explaining this to the receptionist and offered some times when it would be more convenient to take the call. The lack of understanding certainly made me feel I was not been listened to. I know everyone is trying their best but I wish there was a system that you could actually get a time for you telephone appointment just like they do for face to face appointments. we all have to work and can't constantly be by our phones.

Review titled NICE
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 21 March 2024
This time, I am not happy with the staff as well as the doctors. I have been waiting for my referral for the last one and a half months (right hand). After that, they called me for a face-to-face appointment. After chasing them up, I heard their apologies. They forgot to refer me to the hospital. Again, I called today, March 21, 2024, and my referral is still pending with the doctor. And chasing up my blood results as well. no idea where to go or where to chase them properly. so Disappoinment.

Review titled Totally useless...
Rated 1 star out of 5

I was directed there on a weekend appointment by my usual practice (nothing urgent, but I needed a GP to assess thoroughly). Instead, I was received by a welcoming and friendly paramedic who took good note of the symptoms and annotated diligently that I had tried a treatment already with no results (note that I spelled the commercial name correctly and repeated twice both the active principle and the dosage). They told me a doctor would have reviewed their notes and I would have received a prescription for a different and more effective treatment, which I could get from the pharmacy. When I finally got the prescription in my NHS app, I saw the name of the same drug at half the dosage I used previously with no results. Clearly the doctor did not even look at the information I provided and prescribed medicines 'by the book'. Following that advice I would now waste another month with a totally useless treatment which could worsen my condition. Now I need to contact again my GP and hoper for an appointment (and hope for a specialist or at least some common sense-fuelled medic to consider my case). I wish patients not all doctors of this practice are like the one who made my prescription. So unprofessional and such a waste of taxpayer's money!

Review titled Very unhelpful and unprofessional administration
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 January 2024
The lady that was dealing with me was not very accommodating and not equipped to give advise as she gave me false information. As before I rang the surgery to ask the doctor to change my medication on my repeat prescription as the current one one is no longer available. The lady that answered the phone told me to seek advise from pharmacist about the alternative replacement and come back to advise the doctor to change on my prescription, I found that very strange but I did it anyway. When contacted the pharmacists, I was told in no way that they would advise what the replacement medication as that is the doctor's job. I went into the surgery and talked to the same lady, told her what I was told by different pharmacists, then she agreed send a request to my doctor to change my prescription but with short, uncaring and disrespectful manner. This is not the first time I have dealt with this lady with the uncaring and unhelpful manner, but she also gave wrong advise and information.

Review titled Very poor and unprofessional administration
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 June 2023
Getting one appointment was enough to put me off ever trying again. Reception staff are very unprofessional, blaming Doctors in front of patients and being highly rude over the phone (which is ironic considering the warning that staff won't accept any abuse). I waited almost an hour for my appointment and when I queried at reception found out that it was cancelled and they had forgotten about me. Then waited a further 30 minutes for an alternative Doctor, who was dismissive and flippant about my issue. What a waste of time and such poor, unprofessional administration. I would dread to have a serious illness and need to be looked after by this surgery. Thank goodness this surgery is not accepting new patients - please, please do something to improve it.

Review titled Impossible to get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5

Impossible to get an appointment. Recently moved to the area, had a pe 6 months ago and was put on medication for life. I can't get an appointment and cant get a repeat perscription even though I was told i'll be on this medication for life. Tried to book though the website, no way of doing it. Tried calling and all they say is only contact us if it's an emergency, we are really busy. The medicine review on the website is also pointless. Filled it out and had 0 response. I don't think they should be accepting new patients, they clearly cannot function properly as is.
