Review titled Terrible secretary and overall GP Service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Robin Blell - Posted on 02 September 2024
The GP is absolutely shocking both in its doctors and secretaries. I had spoken to a receptionist and i was appalled and frustrated with her terrible phone demeanour and lack of support, empathy or assistance. She was snappy, rude, and cut me off several times, as I was trying to make a point to her that I had not received the appointment from the Endoscopy Center, which the Doctor sent the request for a week ago. The Endoscopy Centre had told me that they had not received any referrals and she was no help at all and said the Dr had sent the request on the 23rd of August and would not do any extra effort to try and find out why my request had not been processed yet. As I was trying to understand where the error was coming from as I am following up on my healthcare, she kept cutting me off by being snappy to which then i responded by asking her to stop cutting me off. After which she hung up on me. She is an absolutely terrible communicator with no sense of empathy nor urgency or care towards patients. In addition to this, the doctors in general do not seem to be that bright or resourceful, they are quite unempathetic, unurgent, and provide poor diagnosis.

Review titled Barnabus Medical Center

The practice is impossible to get through to on the phone, it's a joke the patient experience is appalling. No one answers the phone you can be be 8th in a queue and wait for up to an hour listening to a recorded message and when it comes to your turn no- one responds just the ringing of the phone and the recorded message thanking you for your patience and understanding. So a waste of time. I have been given all sorts of excuses that they are too busy/ backlog from covid/phones not working etc etc. I have walked into the surgery with my mobile ringing and they are sitting there in the back office or on the main reception (never been busy in the surgery every time I have gone in). You can't get an appointment even if you turn up before 8.30am. & when you do get an appointment it is 4-5 weeks later. GP only deals with telephone appointments and if you miss the call back then you are back at square one trying to get an appointment again. There is a mix bag of reception staff some utterly rude and have no concept of how to talk decently to a patient and some who are curt, cold and will ask you why you are calling and what your symptoms are but still don't help or can't help with an appointment. Not sure what is going on with this practice and why they are operating in such an unprofessional way. The only saving grace are the GP's who try to help but 5 weeks later....... I wouldn't recommend anyone new register here...just utterly appalling!

Review titled Reception are a joke
Rated 3 stars out of 5

You can call them be 9th in queue for 1 hour, get to next in queue it rings for 20 mins. You can walk in with the phone ringing and no one’s on the phone and their phones not ringing , reception are like barriers impossible to get past , even at 8.30 all appointments gone. No one sitting in hardly ever , don’t know why doctors are being like in covid go back to before , or get staff that want to answer the phones , that’s happened about 4 separate times absolute joke ,

Impossible to get through to them on the phone. When you do, their policy is to only book telephone appointments with the GP regardless of your symptoms but they cannot tell you when the GP will call (i have been told they will call twice only so to stay near the phone) I don't see the difference with calling NHS 111 apart from the fact that the GP from NHS 111 does call back within 1 hour. Once you finally get to speak with the GP , they decide if you are worth seeing in person. I always find having to deal with them to be stressful and frustrating especially when the appointment is for young children that have been unwell for multiple days, same policy applies.

Review titled Amazing Practice, great parking and experience !
Rated 5 stars out of 5

This GP has amazing staff that fulfilled my requests as soon as possible. Every person I have encountered has always been friendly and facilitating. Given the location, this practice has great accessibility for everyone. Within a 5 minute walk from the nearest bus stop. Parking for patients on sight as well as on the main road. The GP has an amazing online service to view information relating to patients. I would recommend this practice to anyone.
