    I had issues booking an appointment because they only accept same day appointments and my employer needs more than a few hours notice. After several attempts someone finally let me explain what procedure I needed and we booked an appointment later in the week. During the appointment the nurse made tons of comments about how she’s not supposed to work Fridays and she hopes to leave by noon but it doesn’t look likely. Then she informed me we could not do the 5 minute procedure because it needs to be done by a different service. I explained I received a letter from said service informing me my GP is responsible for my care moving forward. Even after I insisted she rescheduled me and said she would reach out to the other service. We debated for 20 minutes and could’ve been done with everything in half that time. The next week I receive a letter from the other service stating again my GP is responsible. I show up to my appointment to find out this nurse had canceled my appointment, claiming the other service stated the procedure was no longer necessary. This practice needs to learn how to effectively communicate with its service users and consider best practice. I work for the NHS too and I see this all the time, pushing service users to another service so they don’t have to deal with them is far from best practice in my opinion. As an immigrant with a work visa I also pay thousands of dollars a year to use the health care system here so I expect at the very least a little kindness and respect from its employees.

    I spoke with a receptionist today about my test results who was very professional, friendly and polite. We have to remember how busy these people are and appreciate their understanding and help.

    Have been trying to get gp appointment of any kind since 14/5/24 but online full to capacity every day contacted 111 and was advised to contact my GP as my issue requires a hospital referral and blood request form then on nhs site see surgery is offering to take on new patients when they Don't have capacity to deal with ones already on their books

    We are sorry you are struggling with the triage appointment system. NHS England have made this type of appointment system mandatory as part of the modern general practice model. We have just checked and there are three appointments available as I write this - this never happened under the old appointment system. If you prefer to call us you can reception ring reception and they can normally (depending on availability) they will assist in you getting an appointment request in.

    Booked a telephone appointment after over a month of failing to get a face to face appointment. The telephone appointment was meant to be at 15:00-15:10. Doctor rang at 14:05. I missed his call, but phoned back (twice). I was told that I had an afternoon appointment. This is clearly different to what was written on paitiant access. I clearly says 15:00-15-10! I was spoken to as if I had missed his call, when in fact it was the doctor who should have phoned me at the time arranged. The booking system is clearly not fit for purpose. Impossible to get an appointment face to face and now this. I really hope they change their booking system. Patients are unable to access any sort of service. Not good enough & a sign of how things are declining.

    I have been a patient at this surgery for many years and have never known it so difficult (impossible) to get an appointment. It is not the receptionist staff, but a symptom of how standards / quality of service has declined over the past 10/13 years. It was getting difficult to book an appointment - but often you could after four or five attempts. I often had to queue in the morning outside as the telephone lines were useless. Recently they do not allow this and one has to use the inadequate telephone line which constantly engaged. Once through, there is nothing left. Find if you want tickets for a concert, but not medical need that hospital have told you cannot be dealt with unless you have seen a GP! I knew things were at a terribly unacceptable state with dentists in this country, but find myself facing a similar problem with my GP surgery. I am now trying find another GP.

    Granted it can be difficult to contact as it opens but I have always been seen or telephoned back on the same day and treated with courtesy.

    Many times I have tried to ring for an appointment at allocated time period 08.30am - 0900am only for line to be continuously engaged! What a complete waste of time and stressful too! The staff just parrot out the same spiel if you ring in the afternoon 'it's just the way the system is..' Terrible, terrible disorganisation.

    My wife and I have been patients at this surgery for more than a decade during which we have developed a sense of confidence in the timeliness and necessity of the quality of care we have been receiving from the team at the Borchardt. Time and again we have been left with a sense of gratitude for the team’s competence and their caring attitude from which we, as their patients, have benefited
