Review titled Gone downhill
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 March 2025
I’ve been a patient here for many decades with my named GP being a long standing female partner of the practise. I cannot sing her praises enough, she takes the time to listen and you don’t have to go over everything again from previous appointments as she clearly takes an interest in her patients. The problem is you can never get an appointment with her - you can’t book online anymore at all or get an advance appointment to see her unless you get a nurse to book it in (don’t try asking reception as they won’t try to help), you have to ring or turn up on one of the two days she is there and even if you’re straight through at 8am there’s never any appointments left to see her. So you’re left with seeing a locum or another Dr, one of which I believe is there most days. I’m sure he is extremely qualified and competent but I’ve seen/spoke to him a few times this month regarding a serious pain issue and he visually looks fed up and annoyed within the first 15 seconds of trying to explain the issue and cuts you off while you’re giving him the details, dismissing and ignoring important details. Family members have said the same and really don’t want to have to see him and have refused appointments for him because they know they’re unlikely to feel like they’ve been listened to and are going to be helped - like I do. No wonder you can’t get to see my named GP because the difference between the two is night and day, genuinely comes across as uncaring and just wants to get rid of you as quickly as possible. What’s also terrible is today I had to speak to the GP on the phone because I’m unable to attend the surgery, he was more dismissive and didn’t listen over the phone more-so than he does in person. I was prescribed very strong painkillers which he said was done straight away. 5 hours later when my partner went to collect they had not been sent, and at the surgery she was told by receptionist that they’d not been done and she’d request it but it’s unlikely to be done today (last open day of the week, so 3 days later). These are very strong painkillers so obviously are urgently required and I had to phone and tell the receptionist to get the GP to do it now and pass it to my partner to collect - she was apologetic but it’s just not good enough that they couldn’t be bothered to ask him to do what he should have done there and then for medication that’s urgent and this shows just how downhill this surgery has gone.

Review titled Good Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kathleen Swinton - Posted on 13 August 2024
I had my yearly medical review with the Nurse Who did my diabetic foot check, weight and blood pressure. She then went through all my blood results and was very informative, encouraging me to keep to a healthy diet and look after my feet. My appointment was very relaxed and not rushed and I felt very confident with the advice that I was given, and was assured by her professional but friendly attitude. Thank You.

Review titled Phoning the surgery
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 September 2023
Rang 5 times on 11/09/23 ar different times throughout the day between 9-5.30 pm . Every time engaged. Rang out on normal tone at 5.30 for around 3 minutes and then just went off . This happens a lot on other occasions . Needs to go to a message facility or a call back system if the surgery is open . Needs to be more administrative assistance during am peak hours as difficult to get through . I will try again today .

Review titled Ok Surgery, Some Improvements Needed
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 06 May 2023
Generally a good experience at this surgery. A number of points that let them down at this stage is: 1. Bed side manner of one in particular gp is horrendous and needs to improve significantly, all the other staff there are lovely and helpful, its a shame this one gp lets the whole service down. He really does need to improve his attitude. 2. There new online system Patchs is completely useless and needs revisiting, it is never available you go on it at 8am and there unavailable, does not matter what time of day you visit it, never accessable, even for simple admin requests which dont need a gp or nurse to review. fix it please the old eConsult service was far superior and accessible, this new service os proving to be a backwards step.

Review titled Useless online service
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Absolutely useless, online service! Doesn’t matter what time of day you use there Patchs system it’s never accessible never available, it can 8am on the dot, it can be anytime if day during practice hours it’s never available! Why bother have an online function if it’s never on or never available! Can’t even request simple admin functions through it. No wonder why additional pressures elsewhere in the nhs exist, when go practices like this make there services and facilities so inaccessible.
