Review titled Reception!!
Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been with this GP for a few months now, unfortunately I will be registering with a new one due to the issues I have been having with Cedar Practice. There is one particular receptionist who goes out of her way to make things difficult for patients. They are rude, berate you for calling during the designated hours that they are supposed to take appointments and constantly give the wrong advice. You would think a GP practice would understand some patients that some patients struggle with their mental health and find these interactions extremely stressful. I have also had countless issues with my prescription not being sent to the pharmacy, all the receptionist said was to call the pharmacy and ask them to request it for me! Even my pharmacy was shocked that the GP had left me to try and sort it all out. I did want to mention that there is a lovely lady from the reception team who is an exception to this, I have always found her very calm and helpful. Unfortunately I can't put names here but it starts with an 'M'.

Review titled Poor service

I went to show my problem which had got to do with my kneecap and I have a big lump which causes pain & the doctor didn’t even bother to touch my knee and examine it. She was very rude and said because you’re going to ask 2 questions I don’t have time to talk long about it and just asked me what my other problem is which I then told her about that too and then nothing happened. She just referred me for a scan. I felt so uncomfortable, she was taking notes on the computer after she had stopped she asked anything else in a very sarcastic manner I said no, nothing else thank you and just left. She had zero eye contact, it was such an awkward situation I felt severely uncomfortable.

I called for an emergency that I was very sick and weak. The doctor asked to come the day after but I missed the appointment because I was vey weak to walk they called me and told me that I shouldn’t do that I understood in the same time it was their fault because I told them I’m not feeling well to walk there. After a doctor called and been very rude instead of being helpful.

Review titled Thorough and patient
by ALadyTraveller - Posted on 13 July 2023
Had an appointment with the doctor. It was a follow up appointment, after blood tests & x-rays. The doctor was very thorough, referred me for a scan and to see a specialist. Even though my appointment overran, the doctor did not betray impatience!! Despite Cedar Practice having lost 2 longstanding GPs to retirement and 1 to sabbatical leave within the past few years, it seems the remaining GPs are more than capable of keeping the ship afloat! The only issue for me is the tricky system for getting an appointment in the first place!

Review titled GP staff behavior

After answering questions by 111 online related to my symptoms, I was advised to contact my GP. My GP's website instructs to call before 11 am to make an appointment. I called within that time window. Individual answering the call reprimanded me, ignoring my words, told me I was wrong for filling in the form on 111 website, and I was wrong for calling for an appointment, impatiently expressing frustration at me that I could've booked my online consultation without calling them by using the website. As far as I am aware - and as indicated on clinic website - appointments can be made by telephone and online, so repeatedly admonishing me, the patient, is unacceptable, and only added further emotional stress to an already painful situation. After all, I had started by disclosing the physical pain and concern I was feeling about symptoms. Today's telephone experience is in line with the in-person experience. I would like to see training in professional manner/ "patient service" so that patients aren't made to feel they have sinned by seeking medical assistance.

Review titled Good practice

Overall a good and helpful practice. You can usually get through to a receptionist without a huge long wait on hold, and they are generally helpful. It is usually possible to get an appointment if you have an emergency. The premises are not too busy. I would recommend.
