  1. Review titled Refused child care

Rated 1 star out of 5

I rang to book an appointment for my daughter. After waiting in a queue and making all the selections to book an appointment (where the automated service told me staff would assist in completing a triage form to book an appointment, I got through to a staff member who informed me that I couldn’t arrange an appointment via telephone (despite the system having tools for this… merely recommending using the app instead of waiting in a queue) After highlighting that this was a refusal of access to care I was informed that this access route wasn’t available for use. So don’t trust this service if you struggle completing forms or if your internet is unreliable, or if you’re helping multiple children to get dressed and ready for the day in the rat-race to get the three appointments available for the day.

No matter what time I ring up, I absolutely cannot get an appointment (usually for my baby). 5 times they have sent me to A&E because it’s a two week wait for an appointment, even for a child under 1. When it’s not an accident or an emergency (Hence ringing the GP) yet it’s something that needs attention sooner rather than later. What is the point in having a GP if you cannot be seen and cannot get through at 8am to get a same day appointment. I haven’t experienced this with either of the previous GPs I have been with, just seems to be a lack of concern for their patients and if they can’t provide appointments for the amount of patients they have then why on earth are they taking on more, resulting in people being sent to A&E anyway? The receptionists are polite enough about it but it’s so infuriating when I haven’t experienced this with any other GP surgeries, something seriously wrong.
