  1. Review titled Misleading and delay of treatment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Lucyna Rogala - Posted on 15 January 2025

I have booked an urgent appointment for the 3rd of January. On my way to the appointment I received miss call from the GP practice which I could not answer at that time. When we got there I tried to check in on the self check-in screen that is placed at the entrance. The message I received in response after registering was that "it seems there was a problem with your appointment". I went to the reception to let them know that I arrived for my appointment. The receptionist told me that my appointment was meant to be as telephone consultation. I told that lady that this was a misunderstanding because it was clearly written in the response from the GP practice that my appointment was booked for that time and it was a face to face appointment with the doctor. I showed confirmation of the type of appointment. Unfortunately I was ignored by the receptionist. Even though the evidence was shown, this lady still tried convinced me that the appointment was supposed to be a telephone consultation. Finally after all the unnecessary arguments she asks me if I want to see the clinician today here on site. She told us to take sit in the waiting area we were waiting for 15-20min then I hear someone called me in . Unfortunately, to my surprise, it was not the doctor I had an appointment with, but a pharmacist. When it comes to summarizing my experience, I will say it straight: I have never encountered such great incompetence and lack of organization on the part of a corporation that should set an example and serve people.

  2. Review titled Need more trained menopause specialists

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 January 2025

Saw a nurse at the Barming Surgery, for a HRT review. I had filled out an e-consult requesting that I be put back on a bio-identical form of progesterone rather than synthetic which they had switched me to during a shortage. The nurse that I saw didn’t seem to have looked at my notes at all before my appointment and was questioning why I was there even though the surgery arranged the appointment. She then questioned why I was on HRT and said that I shouldn’t be on patches and tablets! When I answered and explained that I should be on both forms she then said she would have to refer me back to the consultant who suggested I go on HRT in the first place. When I queried why, she didn’t seem to like that and basically said she wasn’t comfortable with changing my progesterone in a very defensive tone. Why give me an appointment with someone who doesn’t understand menopause and is not comfortable altering prescriptions? I managed to find the original recommendation letter from 2.5 years ago and she changed her manner then suddenly said I could have a 3 month prescription. The reason that I had to go for a private consultation in the first place was because the surgery would not acknowledge peri-menopause. It would help if more GP’s were trained in this area, and actually gave appointments with the relevant trained staff rather than those who don’t have the knowledge or the confidence to prescribe vital medicine.

  4. Review titled Avoid The College Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am writing this letter to express my outrage and dismay at The College Practice on College Road, Maidstone. On 18th December I had a phone appointment with a doctor to discuss my blood test results, but unfortunately no one called me the whole day. This is an extremely bad attitude towards a patient and complete irresponsibility on the part of a doctor. I am outraged and upset by the lack of attitude!

  5. Review titled Diabetic Review; great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 November 2024

Attended the practice today with my stepson who has Type 1 diabetes. The nurse was patient, clear and proactive in resolving a number of issues we had with medication, treatment management and coping with the disease. Probably the best interaction I have ever had with a practice nurse. If only all of the NHS was as good as this.

Good afternoon, Mr Moss, I have personally looked into your issues as described above. I can see that a text message had been sent as a reply to your EConsult with a Face-to-Face appointment for Yesterday. I have today arranged for the GP to call you and discuss yourself and your wife's issue. I can see this call has been completed. The surgery will be in contact to arrange for your Flu and Covid injections in due course. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact the surgery and request to be added to one of my Speak out Session. Kind Regards The College Practice.

  8. Review titled Bronchiolitis

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 October 2024

Writing on behalf of my brother and sister in law. Bought their 4 month old baby into the surgery as she had been coughing and her chest was rattling. Got told it was a cold and nothing the doctors could do. Last night, the baby started going blue in the face, and they rushed her to A&E to find out she had Bronchiolitis. Horrible service from doctors, they will be taking this further as the safety of this poor baby was compromised with their silly advice!

  10. Review titled The phone system never works

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 September 2024

I just want to have my blood test result, but the related phone queue is fault…1 month ago the ‘call back’ function didn’t work, and now the ‘request for test result’ function. What can be wrong is wrong.
