It is very difficult to be able to communicate with the GP's at this practice as they seem to prefer to consult via the reception team passing messages backwards and forwards between the GP and the patient or by text message. Personal experience following a recent diagnosis was, in my opinion, short of what it should be. I had questions regarding onward referrals and treatment options that I wanted to discuss with the GP and what the best options were, however was only passed messages backwards and forwards between myself via the receptionist. This took way more of everyone's time than it needed to than if I had spoken to the GP. I also felt I couldn't ask what I wanted or needed to as going back and forward was becoming ridiculous. Other family members who have been unwell have also had text messages following a request for a face to face appointment to say the practice is under pressure, we all appreciate that however patients are being made to feel like they are nuisance when they ask for their GP's help with ongoing symptoms which are not clearing up.
